I grew up in the 80's so I love alot of the stuff from that era.
As far as music goes here's my favorite bands or singers.

Michael Jackson.
Hall and Oates.
Kenny Loggins
Ozzy Osbourne
MC Hammer
Vanilla Ice (Hey I was 12 back then so shut up!)
The cars

Actually I'd be here all night if I listed them all. The 80's was just full of awesome songs!

Oh man, how could I of missed this thread. It must of been hiding behind the shadows Gaiden style. :p
Anyways, these 2 songs are TIED for my favorite song of the 80's.

Pseudo Echo - In His Eyes - (Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning)
This track is amazing in all of it's funky synthased glory. It's a killer boogy song and definitly sets some killer crazy fun atmosphere, and i always throw it on for Halloween. Great for Parties! B-)

This track was also used in Vilotes death scene in Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning, seen here. B-)

Ah-ha - The Sun always shines on TV
Oh man do i love this song, especially when it starts to kick in at '0:51' and then that killer synthy beats blast out at '1:12' which is possibly one of my favorites parts in 80's music history. Meanwhile the Keyboarderst is rocken one one wild mullet, while the lead singer eventually hops in and looks a little too passionate in the mega process.lol :p

Thank you Slapshot! I know Ninja Gaiden music is most excellent. The only reason I dont raise it up to super premium status level is because the songs are to short. Buuuutttttt, the music sure gets you in the zone for A Strategic Encounter and The Fight Of Your Life. Oh man... how I just love the writing that comes with the old NES and SNES boxes and manuals, totally worth the extra money to get the classics CIB. :D That is cool it is your favorite game, certainly worthy. I have it my top 3 NES games and around # 7-8 overall.

Sounds like the best techno rave ever. I know I'd go in if I heard this music from my lawn.

Great subject! For video game music, eighties is my next-to-favorite, second only to the SNES early nineties.
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, Title Screen

Bionic Commando, Area 2, 9, 11

Bionic Commando, Area 8

Bionic Commando, Area 12

Contra, Snowfield

Life Force, Starfield

Kid Icarus, Palace in the Sky

I've got more, but I'll save it for another post. Listening to these again makes me realize they don't make video game (or any other genre) music like they used to. Guess I'd need a psychiatrist to explain why the chiptunes of yesteryear sound infinitely better to me than the orchestrated pieces today, but that's just the way it is. I think everything about video games these days (music, graphics, etc.) is so lifelike that they don't feel so much like video games anymore. Maybe I've just lived too long seeing the early days of gaming, LOL.
