I have a huge list of these. A few years back I decided to go back and play any highly revered games from consoles I'd never owned. These are the ones I'd like to finish this year:
Ghosts and Goblins
Castlevania 2
Super Mario World
Earthbound
Doom
Duke Nukem 3D
Tomb Raider II
Spyro 2
Resident Evil 2
Grandia
Paper Mario
Majora’s Mask
Never owned a SNES, N64 or a Playstation, so there are a lot of great games I've never played.

Did you say Ghosts and Goblins... THAT GAME IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BEAT!! IT'S SO HAAAARD! I don't really want to use a walkthrough mind you but how the shell are you supposed to get passed a tital wave that washes you off and kills you INSTANTLY!
Anyway. I would like to get around to Digimon World 1, FF7, SSB Melee (Only played a bit at a pub.), Mario Galaxy and Okami.

I can't think of any besides Eternal Darkness but I know there's other games. Oh Conker's Bad Fur Day and Diddy Kong Racing oh they were so much fun!!! I'll keep posting as I remember.

Well I am planning on making a Top 13 Ninty 16-bit Games I'm Surprised I Didn't Play Yet countdown for my blog one of these days; I just have to work on the summary about them. Well, here they are; in no particular order:
Stunt Race FX (Wild Trax)
Harvest Moon
Star Fox (Starwing)
Hagane: The Final Conflict (Hagane)
Tin Star
Super Bomberman
Nangoku Papuwa-kun
U.N. Squadron (Area 88)
Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage
Soldiers of Fortune (The Chaos Engine)
Flashback (Flashback: The Quest for Identity)
Zombies Ate My Neighbors
Earthworm Jim (I would actually want to hunt down the MegaDrive/Genesis original, but the reason I even bring this one up is because I didn't play any Earthworm Jim period)
.............................................
Yeah, I'm missing out, I know.
I've played most of those (except Hagane and Papuwa) and honestly, you're not missing that much, IMO. I think UN Squadron and Zombies Ate My Neighbors were the best of those, and even then, their gimmicks kinda wore thin after a while. UN Squadron's mini-levels get repetitive very quick, and ZAMN is one of those arcade-style games where there are a gazillion levels and most of them follow the same few templates. They're still fun, but they're heavily overrated IMO.
Meanwhile Starfox hasn't aged well and Star Fox 64 was pretty much a reboot that blew it out of the water. The original Harvest Moon has aged poorly, at least in terms of progression, control, and conveyance. Tin Star was pretty neat, but I didn't care for the Controller controls. I don't think Super Bomberman 1 was the best Bomberman, I liked Mega Bomberman/Bomberman '94 more. Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage was pretty cool, but not essential. Flashback was pretty awful hsd some pretty awful physics and controls iirc. Soldier of Fortune was pretty neat, but it didn't leave much of an impression. I never cared for Earthworm Jim, even when I was a kid - It's got impressive graphics, but I hate the artstyle, and I don't recall it being very fun, with a few parts that I thought were unnecessarily difficult (though the sequel was much worse for that).
always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
Chrono Trigger, Dark Cloud, Persona 1+2+3(irony right?), Earthbound, Dragon Quest VII, The Metal Gear Series, Banjo and Kazooie, MegaMan X2-8, Legends, Star Force, and any Pokemon version at some point.
