Hey there guys. I'm a bit (bit, not massive) of a Nintendo collector, and recently someone brought into me a basic NES bundle. Most of the bundle was everything im used to, except for this controller that was included. It is a "Retocon" aftermarket controller. I have tried my darndest to research it, but i cant find any solid information at all - none have been sold on eBay or amazon, and one site is selling one without a price, and another site has a guy wanting to find one.

Does anyone recognize it? Because boy, do I need help. Any info would be great.

Here are the pic URLs.

Welcome to the wonderful but rather overwheming world of 3rd party NES controllers. Over the years I've collected lots of different controllers but i've never seen this one either. There are so many out there, often with numerous variations or sold under other labels / brands. i've yet to discover a webpage that makes a serious effort to document them all.

That's definitely the case! There are so many recreations that it's sometimes overwhelming. I'm just surprised to see that a controller that you would think would have been mass produced has no traces on the internet. Usually I'd go "eh its a bootleg" or something, but there were other mentions of finding the same controller, and its by a reputable (stereo) company. It never hurts to try I guess.

I'm actually surprised to see a Recoton brand NES controller.
First I heard of them was in the SNES era, when they made controllers (licensed) under the STD brand (I'm sure one of their controllers was featured in a Nintendo Power article on third-party controllers), but then went unlicensed in the N64 era under the names Performance and InterAct. Didn't even hear the name Recoton until about the millenium, which was the point in time where the NES was old enough there wasn't a demand but yet yet there wasn't a "retro" scene then and thus wasn't a huge demand for aftermarket controllers.

As @ogo79 said, the SNS-RZ-USA is a prime giveaway that it's not a legit retail cart.
And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)
