Topic: Nintendo franchises that no one knows

I've heard that Nintendo has a LOT of franchises that no one knows now. if anyone who has played those franchises, can you post the tile of it and explain briefly what that game was about. One condition, it needs to be a Nintendo game whether made or published.

After so long...I'm back. Don't ask why

But... if someone names a game that means someone knew, if there is one nobody genuinely knows then it would be impossible to tell you, since no one would have the knowledge, I'm beginning to think you made this thread to make my brain explode or something :/

Commander Keen for the GBC. It was a major series in the early 90s on pc, but had 1 game exclusively for GBC.
Steel diver in10 years will probably be a game nobody knows either, despite it being pretty fun. Definitely not worth $40, I got mine for $10.

I was talking in terms of no one ELSE knowing about a game made by Nintendo except a few people who played it. The fact that Nintendo left a lot of their franchises means that they are only focusing on the ones that have been important to them. :/

I paid $40 for Steel Diver because there wasn't much of a choice at launch.

No F-Zero on Wii? Psssht! Stunt Race FX is the most ignored Nintendo racing franchise! I insist you all write to Nintendo to correct this injustice!
(okay, if it needs more than one game to count as franchise, then Famicom Grand Prix is).

Custom Robo. In all of my NintendoLife, I have only seen one other person even mention it here.

Kaeru no tame ni kane wa naru - "For the Frog the Bell Tolls". Nintendo made action adventure starring a frog (who you can name). It is very Zelda-like and in fact the game's engine was used the following year to make Zeruda No Densetsu: Yume wo MIru Shima (The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening).

Sadly the frog-prince (or should I say frog-snake prince, since he can turn into a frog or a snake and needs to do so many times to complete the game) was never heard of again and the game was never translated. I am playing it right now (no dubious Roms - I got it from the Japanese eShop) and I would say that while it isn't up to Zelda/Final Fantasy standards is is one of the deeper and better adventures on the original Gameboy, with a quirky, funny storyline.

Had the game on DS was a lot of fun while being quite challenging later on.

I'd rather the four SRFX cars be secret unlockable characters in Mario Kart 8. And Nintendo to start using SRFX courses in future Retro Cups. As far as making a sequel, no. It doesn't really need one. Keep Mario Kart as the main racing game.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

SmaMan

Remember that assist trophy in Brawl with the blue, speedo-wearing demon that made the screen move? He's from this one Famicom game called Devil World, one of the most bat-$%#* craziest games you'll ever play. It's also probably the first appearance of what would become Yoshi 7 years down the road. (They both come out of eggs with the same sound effects and such)

Some people may remember these back from the Gameboy Color and Advance eras.

These games were licensed games, but they were developed and published by Nintendo. I played them as a kid, and they do hold up pretty well. But I have only ever seen about 2 people besides myself mention the games AT ALL.

Wow, Nintendo made Ham-Ham Unite?...did not know that. It was an okay game, I think. Kinda expected better from Nintendo, though.

I think it's a genuine crime that so many people never played this.

OMG that show was so kawaii and adorable. Ham ham was said every 3 seconds of the show, though.

The Glory of Heracles franchise was actually created by Data East, and Paon bought the rights after they went out of business. (DE made five 8 and 16-bit games that were never localized).
Fossil Fighters was made by Red, who made a lot of other games including Tengai Makyo (another RPG franchise that is too unlocalizeable), Bonk and Sakura Wars.

This was actually one of few remaining GBA games I found at a Wal-Mart a few years ago... I think they were actually selling this game all the way until 2009 - they still had it when I got my DS Lite...
