I can't beat the "Trials of a Jedi" level. In the last part, I'm supposed to rapidly press "B" to raise Luke's X-Wing until he gives up and needs Yoda to do it for him. I press it as fast as I can, but the game always drops the X-Wing back down without activating the cutscene, causing the time limit to run out and me failing the mission. I've tried different controllers and playing the level without infinite lives, but nothing works. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to get a GameCube controller with a rapid-fire function?

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

Judging from a playthrough I just watched and online faqs, you need to tap it enough times in the 20 seconds given, then Yoda pulls it out for you.

I looked at a playthrough, and they can raise the X-wing a lot higher than I can. My X-wing always falls back into the water before I can get it completely unsubmerged. I guess that confirms that I just can't press 'B' fast enough for the necessary amount of time. Why did they have to make it so strict?
