Topic: Most successful games you didn't like

i think there's a subtle difference between the questions, guys -- 'best' perhaps leans more toward critical acclaim and how the general public feels about a game, but 'most successful' is more along the lines of how much money it brought in for the publisher. That's why i didn't bother locking this one. Can we get back on topic now? :3

Every Naruto game ever made (Do I really need a reason?)

You do need a reason.
Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 3 & 4 are both really, really good fighting games. Better than SSB, better than DOA, better than Tekken, better than MK, better than SF.

Doshin the Giant sold about six copies (one to me), it fits the description 'best', but definitely not 'successful'.

You're in the wrong thread.

Rawr!

@Machu

Over here in Sweden it was a big hit, sold a lot of copies!

Animal Crossing: Wild World
Astro Boy: Omega Factor
Bomberman Blast
Gunstar Future Heroes
LostWinds
Onslaught
SSX 3
Super Mario Bros.

I didn't dislike any of them, but they are all mediocre-decent games in my eyes. They are just overrated as hell.

2008, and yes I know what you're going to say, but that shouldn't make any difference. I played Super Mario Bros. 3 for the first time in 2009 and I'm still enjoying it. Now that's a good game! Super Mario Bros. just isn't, it's pure nostalgia.

@Apocalypse

You believe the context of time is irrelevant?

Nintendo wouldn't have become the company it is, the games industry wouldn't have become the way it is and there would have never been a mario 3 which came way later, if super mario bros wouldn't have been so successful! When it came out there was nothing like it.

True, yes, but in this time it's a mediocre game. A true good game should age well.

Mario Kart 64. Where does anybody get the idea that it's worth crap?
Also, most successful NES games aren't that great to me. (SMB 1, the NES Zeldas, etc.)
EDIT: Oh yeah, and I'm not exactly a fan of the Halo series. They're so overrated, it's half the reason why I hate Microsoft's consoles.

I don't know why, but I don't really like Metroid Prime 2, but 1 & 3 are some of my all time favorite games...

Anyways I thought up of another game. Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City. Thus far out of all the GTA's the only one I found myself having fun in was San Andreas. Not sure if it was the setting in San Andreas but GTA 3 I found boring. In Vice City it was a step up from GTA 3 but I just still could not get into the game.

As I said in another topic, almost any turn based RPG (except for the Mario & Luigi series). However, I could never get into Nintendogs, mostly due to the fact that I couldn't teach my freaking dog its own name! I also couldn't get into Mercury Meltdown Revolution (I know it's not successful, but I honestly don't care).
