I previously posted here somewhere on Nintendolife a post that showed the unused 'enemy' Stoke, but there seem to be more hidden stuff inside the code of Super Metroid.

I believe the red sky is used as part of the flashing sky animation during your escape. Not positive, though.

Nice site. I like the Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask sections.

The linked site says the game actually just flashed random colors.

Oh yeah, Ive seen these before. Pretty cool, if only things like thse could be included in VC releases.

In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

Yeah, thank you for linking me to this site. It's really awesome. I spent hours at work reading about recovered content from the Super Mario platformers.

Seems that a (standard, early) short beam was ultimately dropped from the game in favor of making a long beam standard...

Long Beam

Alien Pac-Man?

Found using a Sprite Viewer on a ZSNES save state, this weird, alien-esque Pac-Man type thing can be seen amongst Mother Brain's graphics. Absolutely no idea what it was doing there, unless it was supposed to be a part of Mother Brain herself. Very creepy.

Intersting stuff you linked to there. Everytime I read about or see a screenshot of Super Metroid I just want to drop everything else and play it.

that's some cool stuff man. It's always interesting to see changes from earlier versions of a game, or I suppose anything really, compared to the final product.
