Just wanted to shed some light on a little overlooked Super Famicom goodie Just making a discussion thread for this game, exclusively; and if anyone would like to offer their two cents (if you played it, or if you are curious about it), you are more than welcome to
Mickey Mouse has starred in many platformers in the '90s, but one in particular has never left Japan nor has been rereleased for any other console since: Mickey no Tokyo Disneyland Daibōken for the Super Famicom. It may not be like Capcom's Nintendo 16-bit trilogy of Mickey Mouse games but while it lasts it does offer a decent amount of challenge, well-designed and charming lands (such as Adventureland and Tomorrowland), and balloon-themed gameplay that takes some time to adjust to but once enough timed has been learned to get used to them they are intuitive. It can be a bit frustrating sometimes (at times because of the gameplay which could've used a bit more polish) but for the most part it is a lot of fun while it lasts, and Horned Pete is the best Pete that you will fight in a video game that has him for a villain (imo). I think personally that GRC did a solid job at crafting their 1994 Mickey Mouse platformer, and the fact that it takes place in Disneyland is a plus. It's six worlds of largely fun venturing.
I joined the forum just to reply to this thread. It isn't a bad game and worth importing if you like the other Disney Super Famicom games. To be honest, I was surprised to see a post about it here, hence my reply.
I had to locate my cart to have another play on it:
The reply function here seems really basic. No preview, BBCode, etc? Perhaps I am doing something wrong.
