I can't remember much about my initial impressions of it, except that I kept on playing despite the fact that I was doing so horribly and making no progress whatsoever. That's certainly a mark of a good game. First Robot Master stage you played first: No idea, probably Cut Man. Favorite MM Game: MM2 and MM9 Least Favorite MM Game: Don't know 5, 6 or 8 enough to say for sure. Of the ones I know better, I'll say 1. Favorite Robot Masters: Cut Man, Bomb Man, Crash Man, Magnet Man, Ring Man, Shade Man, Splash Woman, Jewel Man, Blade Man, Nitro Man Favorite Robot Master Music: Elec Man, Bubble Man, Air Man, Wood Man, Metal Man, Top Man, Snake Man, Gemini Man, Dive Man, Galaxy Man, Splash Woman Least Favorite Robot Master: Heat Man, Needle Man, Shadow Man, Drill Man, Plug Man, Solar Man, Strike Man Hardest MM you've Played: 3 Easiest MM you've Played: 2 (on Normal Mode, otherwise 10) First Robot Master You Beat: Bubble Man. I added this question because I'd be curious what the other responses are.
That's way too much detail for me to remember. I will say that 9 is my favorite, and 10 is the first and only one I've beaten (used Proto Man and Easy Mode). When I was a kid I always liked to rent 4-6 because they had better covers.
If all Mega Man series were included, I'd probably rank X2 evenly with 9, but it's been a long time since I've played it, so it's hard to say. I think I beat X2 and maybe X1 and X3.

First MM Game: Megaman 9, and I couldn't do anything. It must have taken me about a year to beat this First Robot Master Stage: Jewel Man I think, one of the MM9 masters though.
