I don't think Sonic Adventure is a bad game at all. I only played the GameCube DX Director's Cut remake, never the Dreamcast original, but I think it's fun.
I'm surprised that the game has received so much negative feedback. I mean, I get it if the port sucks for whatever reason, but I had the game on the DC and loved it. Definitely the best 3D Sonic game.
I prefer the first Sonic Adventure than 2. There's free roam of exploration to play around in your own pace, playing as Tails without his robotic suit, Knuckles' stages being less tedious, and a pinball machine.
No, there both pretty good games, great games even. They may seem dated today but, to me atleast, they'er no more dated than say Mario 64. I think SA2 has aged a bit better than the first but that shouldn't stop you from playing it.
Both games have their fair share of flaws but they still mannage to be fairly fun, solid games.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

Nonsense comments and you shouldnt trust IGN who gave Deadly Premonition 1 / 5.
This version of sonic adventure is the definitive one. I downloaded it last night. Having played dc / gc and pc version I can say that the 360 / psn version is the definitive.
They have ported the GC version and locked the framerate to 60 fps, which was the main reason I didnt like the GC version that dropped and shuddered all over the place 60 > 30, 60 > 15. Sonic Adventure 2 battle was fine though.
The DC version good as it was was locked at 30 but still remains the second best due to that consistency above GC.
While the PC version was widescreen it had even worse frame drops which would have required a high end monster PC to run the game smoothly.
There are no Game Gear games in this version and I expected that.
BTW for 800 you get the DC version with DX graphics and the DLC 400 gives you missions and metal sonic to complete it to DX
A) That animation is amazing B) I actually really like Sonic. But Adventure is indeed awful. I had a similar "it can't be that bad" moment a few months ago and picked it up. Oh buddy. Lemmie tell ya--it's bad. Virtually unplayable. Perhaps the worst camera system ever, horrible, unnatural movement, glitches up the you-know-what, collision problems, extreme framerate problems...bad. Just bad

Am I the only one who liked Sonic Heroes? Seriously? It was a good game, much better than Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic '06 at the least (Sad thing is, I also liked Sonic '06 but Shadow I just hated)
