On Saturday, I'm considering going to my local classic game store and selling off a few games that I can also get on the VC. Should I do this, or is it a waste of money?
NES Super Mario Bros. 2 Super Mario Bros. 3 The Legend of Zelda Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
My NES has been losing its reliability over the last few years, and I'm worried it may wear out entirely within the next five years. I may start replacing the games this year, and gradually replace them as they're released (although most of the games I have now are Disney games).
GENESIS Sonic the Hedgehog- I got this after I already had it on the VC Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Sonic 3D Blast
I also plan on downloading Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles so that I can get the combo games (Sonic 3 & Knuckles, etc).

It doesn't look like the VC is going anywhere, so I'd wait until the NES completely kicks the bucket before worrying about it. Unless, of course, you just want to get rid of your NES to declutter your TV area.
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery
I think you should sell your NES for parts and get a new NES. You've gotta have the classics. I'm a collector almost as much as a gamer, though, so that may be just me.
I love Sonic 3 & Knuckles I downloaded Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles on the Wii, and I have it on my DSi.
Good luck getting Hyper Sonic,
it took me a long time to get him, but Super Sonic is easyer to get, but Hyper is just better
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
Yeah if that is the problem that your NES is going you can see if you can just get another NES either from Ebay or a classic game shop. Those cartridges are among some of the most popular and might be hard to find later on down the road. Take it from a person who has sold alot of his older games and now regrets it. You may not right now but you will especially when you cant find them or cant find them cheap.

You won't get much of anything from a game store, and if you hold on to them, they might be worth lots in the future.
Technology doesn't work that way. Worn out hardware doesn't generate value like some antique rug. Maybe it would interest a hobbyist if it was untouched in it's original packaging, but everyone else is always looking to upgrade to the latest hardware. Just like with TVs and cell phones.
I don't know what you should do. I'd give it to charity. So maybe you should sell it just to free up some space.
All used, no box usually. I'm getting a SNES soon, so these actually interest me, and I'm no collector.
Who knows? 20 years from now, a SMB3 NES cartridge with a working battery might be worth $200.
I think my heart just stopped. I don't think I could ever justify paying that much for any of those games, especially since, asside from Earthbound, most of those are available in other formats at a cheaper price. In fact, I'm sure most of those sellers are just kidding themselves when they listed those games at those prices.
