I was going through my parents storage shed looking for camping equipment when I came across an unmarked box. Thinking that it might be camping equipment I opened it up and to my surprise I found my Sega Genesis along with 2 of the six button controllers, the power cord and a few games. The only thing is I am unable to hook it up to my current TV cause all I have for it is the old RF hook up.

Did the Sega Genesis ever come with the red/yellow/white hook ups for a tv (I cant remember what they are called so I cant even look it up online) or were they sold sepertly??

I really want to hook it up to my TV and see if the thing still works but cant till I get those cables. Now if only I can find a SNES than I will be all set, lol.

Genesis AV cables are pretty common and cheap nowadays. You can easily find them on places like Amazon or Ebay.

That is an awsome find though. What games did you have for it?

.... or something like that.

That's awesome. I wish I could just open a random box and find a Sega Genesis.

There was Sonic 2, a fighting game called Deadly Moves, Comix Zone and TMNT the Hyperstone Heist. Also there were some Sega CD games mainly Sonic CD, Mortal Kombat and NBA Jam but I didnt find the CD drive.

Nice score, know nothing of Deadly Moves but the others are valuable in love to Sega fans.

I think it's sega-parts.com if not google something similar, they're part of Sega officially and they sell old stuff as far back as the Master System. I just did check it, address is still active but it's called Left Coast Games now, and the prices are all the same as they were a decade ago, so I'd probably say look elsewhere for an a/v cable as $17-20 depending on your model sucks as ebay would be far less I bet. If there's a harder to find game in "NEW" shape you want though they have quite a lot and most are $20, a few are less.

Deadly Moves was a fighting game like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat that was made during that craze to cash in on the popularity of SF and MK. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deadly_Moves My parents got it for me for Christmas one year.

Thanks for the site info but I also have a Retro game store not far from where I live might check there first for some cables in a few days.

Awesome. I bought an AV Cable a few months back for only £6 (£4.50 delivery though...) and decided to get Taz in Escape from Mars.

Awesome game but so, so hard!

Main Final Fantasy & Quest/Shinobi Team fan...but I do like many SEGA games and a few Nintendo games.

I can be cute if I want to be, but I choose not to...as it's not my style.

I have an MK-1600. I found AV video/audio cables for it online for $10. Should I get them, or stick with the RF?
