I got Metroid Prime 3 today! And while I hated Hunters, I'm absolutely loving this game!

It is a fantastic game, one of the Wii's best. You should get the Metroid Prime Trilogy so you get 1 & 2 with the super sweet Wii controls!

It's pretty hard to find the trilogy. it was a collectors edition for metroid. If you're lucky, you'll find a reasonably priced one at eBay.

I was lucky to have it upon release. After playing through Prime 2: echoes with wii controls, i went to gamestop and gave 'em my copy of my GCN one, and bought a wireless nunchuck.

Seriously, the graphics on Prime 3 made me believe the Wii was HD. It blew me away.

Does Prime 3 use a dual layer disc? My Wii is reading it perfectly fine, and if so I'd like to buy Other M.

No it's single layered. I believe Other M is dual, though.

Just for you.

You are correct!

As for Other M, while I thought that it was a good game, some didn't like it as much. Try renting it first.

I'm back (for the moment)!

I've seen some videos, looks fun and I think I would like it. However, I'm afraid the dual-layer disc will break my Wii.

Have you played Super Smash Bros. Brawl? That was a dual-layer disk game. If you played that game and still have a working Wii, then go for it!

Oh, is that why it took up so many blocks of memory? Anyways, yes, my Wii works fine, so I am definitely buying this!

I'm not sure if memory has anything to do with it, but I'm glad I could help.

If I'm not mistaken, the disc can't break your Wii, it just might not read it correctly. It should work if Brawl works, though.

And I recommend that you play a lot of other Metroid games before Other M. I know several people who hate the rest of the series because Other M was their first impression.

I know a lot of people didn't like Other M, so I read and watched a lot about it and it looks like something I'd enjoy.

I know, everyone either loves it for the voice acting or hates it for the mindless violence. I said I know people who can't enjoy Metroid games because Other M gave them a false impression, so just make sure you understand the series first.

I was curious to know if Kraid from the original Metroid was in Prime 3. I know Ridley is, his fight was EPIC.

I've experienced a similar recent attachment to the Metroid series. I've beaten every game except Prime Hunters, which I'll be getting soon. I've loved every game I've played except Prime 2. It's not bad, I just don't like it much. Too long. But I really loved Other M. It's unique gameplay-wise, but it does have the feel of the rest of the series. My favorite of the whole series is Prime 3, though.

Kraid is only in the first one and Super Metroid. He was planned for Metroid Prime, but was cut from the final version of the game. Ridley is in most of the games, usually near the end. (IMO, Prime had the best Ridley battle.)

I STRONGLY recommend you do not get Prime Hunters. It's really more of an FPS than a Metroid game, and not a good FPS either. It's super linear, and when the action gets too hectic there's slowdown.

@Rift Maybe if Dread ever sees the light of the day, Kraid could be a boss. That would be awesome!

Yeah, that would be great. I think even if they scrapped Dread, lots of the work they put into it will be carried over to the next 2D game.

I used to think that, but then I played Other M. :/
