Topic: How to protect a NES 72 pin connector?

I just installed a new NES 72 pin connector, and I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to keep it from breaking. Is it safe to keep games sitting in the NES when I'm not using it -- will that keep extra force on the pins and bend them over time, or is it worse to be putting my games in and out of the NES each time and putting force on the pins each time you insert a game?

I don't know of any way to extend the life of a pin connector. Unfortunetly because of design it's something that has to be replaced every few years. I would think it would be better to leave the cart in since it would probably put less force on it than constantly inserting and removing it unless you only play it every once in awhile. If you don't play it that often then I'd consider taking it out after playing.

It's very difficult to say. Both ways are wearing the pins out. Frequent usage (insertion/removal) may SEEM to speed up that process, but in fact it doesn't, as unremoved carts bend the pins on a more 'friendly' way so to say. And maybe even to a point that there insn't even a connection to be made because of the space...

With kind regards,
