Well I hope whatever games you got were worth a few bucks as a NES can be had for like $20-40(boxed up starts around here) on ebay. I'd still go fish out the old pins you had if they were supplied. Maybe breaking it in will help, but yeah I would use whatever the most worn out busted up thing you have to do it.

It didn't come with any games. It was just the system with all cords and one controller. I'm currently using the cords with my old toploader. Works fine now.

I also got Tiny Toon Adventures, but it works fine on both systems.
