Topic: Hints and request of hints of retro titles

I'll start with two small ones...

If you want to replay a castle in Super Mario World press L + R simultaneously.

If you want 9 Energy Tanks in Mega Man 3, just enter the password which contains a red or blue dot at A-6

Any other hints for your fellow-retro gamers?

I guess I'll add a quick hint for Mega Man 3, although I'm sure everyone has heard this one:

Plug in a second controller to the NES and hold down the RIGHT directional pad on Controller 2. It gives Mega Man a mega-jump! Apparently you can hold in UP on Controller 2 to slow down enemies and UP + A to freeze regular enemies, but I've never tested that.

I also hear these work on Virtual Console for anyone interested!

Yep it does freeze the enemy if you hold up and a on the second controller. Also the mega jump is so mega that it lets you jump out of pits so you can use it alot of the time to get by chasms that normally you would need Rushjet for.

On Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers on the NES if you hold down the A button when you die on your last life you will start back as if you had another life without using one of your continues. (Not sure if this works on all copies since I have only used it on mine).

Anyone got any hints for Chrono Trigger? I'm getting killed by this giant monster thing that appears in this flying ship thing that's in every time zone.

Do you mean the Mega Mutant in the Black Omen? The biggest trick is healing the status ailments it gives you and blasting him with any and all Techs.

So yeah, for anybody who's played Final Fantasy before, where am I supposed to go after I get the boat? I already did the Elven quest, but all that got me was a key.

Has anyone got any hints for beating the final stage of super mario bros 2. Which character would be the best to use, and bear in mind that I am playing the super mario advance version, so the level might be slightly different.

No hints from me, but I recall them both using Mario on the Backloggery Stream.

In Sonic 3, when you get stuck at the rotating drum in Casino Night Zone Act 2 (as everyone does when they first play the game), you need to jump on it and hold Up while it goes up and Down when it goes down to increase its vertical movement enough to create a big enough gap down below.

Just use Mario, that's probably your best bet.
