Topic: Help!! I'm missing ONE shine in Mario Sunshine!!

Posts 1 to 20 of 21

I don't know what's going on! I got all shines in each level including the secret shines and 100 coin shines and i have only 5 blue coins left to get 119 shines. The only remaining shine would be in Delfino Plaza but I checked EVERY SINGLE one and made sure I had em all with a walkthrough and everything and yet I'm still missing ONE damn shine D;
Is there like one more secret shine after getting all blue coins and 119 shines or what could I possibly be missing?? I think there might be something wrong with my game :c

If you still have 5 blue coins, doesn't that mean there are still 5 more? And of course, getting 10 would get you one last shine.

Check your shines/blue coins in the map at all locations. Also don't forget about the shine at Delfino Airstrip.

He said he has "5 blue coins left to get 119 shines". So right now he has 118 and is well aware of the one shine he can still get from the blue coins.

Couldn't come up with a gag of your own so you just copied Chicken Brutus? That's fine.

I'm just going to ask that the other mods to respect the rules, even if they are just playing around.

There are 16 Shine Sprites to be found in Delfino Plaza, 1 in Corona Mountain and 2 at the Airstrip (plus 11 in each of the 7 worlds). 24 Shine Sprites are obtained from Blue Coins.

The Delfino Plaza Shines are the following:

  • From the Super Slide (located on the islands near Gelato Beach)
  • From the Red Coin Field (located in a warp pipe on the far left cliffs near Pinna Park)
  • From the Turbo Track (located where the Delfino Police are)
  • From the Pachinko Machine (under the bridge where the boats pass under)
  • From the Lily Pad Ride (in the warp pipe on the right-most island - Yoshi required)
  • 100 coins Shine
  • Destroy all the crates inside the building located on the upper part of Delfino Plaze
  • Same as the previous, but a more difficult challange
  • Cleaning the bell
  • Cleaning the other bell
  • Cleaning the Shine Gate
  • From a yellow bird located on the rightmost island
  • Located in a building above the Pachinko Machine, use the nearby Chuckster
  • Hidden beneath the sand on the beach
  • Rocket Nozzle + Ground Pound the stone tablet on top of the lighthouse
  • In the building under the left bell tower - Use the Turbo Nozzle

Beating the game and collecting all 10 blue coins in Corana Mountain gets you another two stars, collecting the red coins on the Airstrip provides another one.

Yeah I got everything except 2 blue coins in Bianco Hills, 2 in Noki Bay and 1 in Gelato Beach. I also did everything in the airstrip and Corona Mountain.

I think jokes to an unanswered question thread are rude, personally, especially if it derails the topic.

Also, I have a feeling it's the "get all 100 coins" shine. That's always a tough one to get.

Well, if that's the way people feel, that's fine. But I don't think it warrants post deletion / warning. It's certainly not hallmark of a community I'm interested in being a part of, so, hat-tip to everyone who prefers that no fun invade their video game board.

Chicken out.

I don't know what to say about this but obviously if Phil feels this way then it might be a sign of how this place has changed alot.

Nevermind guys, It was the shine after beating the game. I was pretty sure I beat it before but maybe the last shine only counts when you have 119. Either way, I am now 100% done with the game!

Wow congrats, @Chaoslink1! That's the one Mario game I've never been able to 100%. How on earth you beat the giant watermelon part or the collect the red coins on the poisonous river challenge is beyond me.

The Lily Pad Ride isn't that difficult, getting there is the tedious part. As for the Watermelon Festival, just kick the thing towards the cabana on the pier. If you want to play it safe, you can lure the Cataquacks near the Dune Buds, they'll tumble once they hit the little sprout. Water the Dune Bud and it'll blast the Cataquack in the air, destroying it once it lands again. That way you can easily free the path of any enemies.

@Chaoslink1 I'm stuck on 119. I have everything yet Delphi plaza says 39
