You know, the Mario Series of game is not know for its difficulty. But we all know that there is that stage or that star or that boss. What were yours per mario games?
Super Mario Bros: 8-4 Isn't it the toughest? (Even if its still easy)
The Lost Levels: C-4 That Level is EVIL
Super Mario Bros 2: Probably the last stage, I don't remember well that game.
SMB3: Dark Land Stage 1 (not the tank, airship or hands levels). I hate that one. Really.
Super Mario World: Tubular (Special mention for Soda Lake)
Super Mario RPG: Culex
Super Mario 64: Star: The 100 coins for Rainbow Ride. Boss: The last bowser. (Is there a hard boss in SM64?)
Super Mario Galaxy: Star: The Dreadnought Purple coins with Luigi. God I hate that star. Boss: Bouldergeist with the comet. Just cruel.
Paper Mario: Boss: The Master 3th form. and even then, with the good badge its still an easy win.
PMTYD : Boss: Bonetail. Just getting to him is ludicrous. Stage: The pit of trials (DUH!)
I always hated Mega Smilax and the Axem Rangers from Super Mario RPG. Can't believe you didn't mention Luigi's Pruple Coins, lol. Oh yeah...and Bowser X from Bowser's Inside Story.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
Luigi's Purple Coins had me cursing up a storm, but by the time I made it there for the Luigi play-through it was cake (comparatively)...I'd devoted so much playtime to it that I could do it with my eyes closed! (Was still a nightmare though.)
The cruelest stars were in the few on-rails purple coins levels with Luigi. The camera angle didn't always make it very clear if you were lined up properly to snag a purple coin, and if you missed it, not only would you ultimately fail the level, but you'd have to find some way to get yourself killed to start over. So frustrating, and such a waste of time.
...he says about one of the greatest games ever made.
SMB: 8-3 my favourite level! SMB2: 7-2 Luigi can get through the stage easily but sucks against Wart, Toad is the opposite (I like Toad) SMB3: 8-2 SMW: It's easy enough to have nothing noteworthy SMRPG: Everything after 30 minutes, the boredom induced by the game is super-effective, and has STAB bonus. SM64: Easy enough 100 coins on Tick Tock and Rainbow Road is risky at times though. NSMB: Nothing hard at all. SMG: I rented it and got 99 star, none of them were difficult. I doubt purple coins would be, since daredevils were cake.
I can't think of any other hardest parts in Mario, nor do I have any relevant comments about the easy difficulty of the other Mario games.
Well, pretty much confirm it: Even if they are easy games, tehy do have difficult parts that what us to throw the controller/the handheld out of the window.
And still, Lost Levels C-4 is a nightmare for me...
I've beaten regular Lost Levels, but to this day have not beaten the hidden letter levels, possibly one of the earlier ones, there was one involving jumping on turtle backs to the goal.
What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.
Paper Mario: Boss: The Master 3th form. and even then, with the good badge its still an easy win.
What about that big turtle guy? I couldn't beat him, I don't even know if it is possible. He blocks some path you could take near the start of the game.
Sean Aaron ~ "The secret is out: I'm really an American cat-girl." Q: How many physicists does it take to change a light bulb? A: Two, one to hold the light bulb, the other to rotate the universe.
@Arigner or anyone who might know: Would you happen to know any 1-up tricks in the letter stages, like A-1 or A-2? That would go a long way for me to learn how to go through the stages. I've found that Mario 2J is a game of trial and error, it helps with a lot of lives.

I found him quite easy in fact, if you have the good badges. You can easily sleep him. Use d-down jump on him so his high defense will be nullified. Get Wattz and attack each turn but boost mario attack every now and often. Use defence plus and dommage dodge to reduce is attack to almost nothing scary.

Oh well. Its already difficult to do them, but im sure there is things about this on the Internet.
