Well since the reboot of Strider hasn't even come close to 2 million copies, its goodbye to a great game character.....Strider Hiryu.
So this is my first time getting into Strider and I was fortunate that the this reboot showed up on Steam as I don't got with Sony and Microsoft. So far, the game's awesome if only It didn't use too much of power, perhaps it would run smooth on my pc but anyways, Love the character at first sight and probably my favorite Ninja character ever as I usually don't get much into third party games a lot like others.
Its too bad that Strider is now gone for good as Capcom stated that games that only sell two million will be made more......... Which is personally bad decision if you ask me.
To be perfectly honest, the Strider reboot was one of the most boring games ive ever played :/
And knowing Capcom, they are not known to be too fond of keeping mascots alive if they are not from the Street Fighter Universe.
For me personally, i really dont care too much. I didnt enjoy the reboot in the slightest and still am very biased towards Strider 2 myself
So yeah, especially with Capcom, dont keep your hopes up too high, as the potential to be disappointed is extremely high.
Like @Tops said: just enjoy the game and wait what happens in the future. And even then, take it with a grain of salt cough MML3 cough

For a cheaply made game and pretty much a cashgrab which had nothing to do with the series except characters, I think it made them a lot of money, so you can expect to hear about Strider in few years.
On the other hand, it's Capcom, so you never know, they might axe it or milk it dry or just forget about it and never speak of it again.
I can't blame Capcom for "2 mln warrants sequels" policy - with development costs sky rocketing and idiotic decisions as of late, they must make money somehow.
Capcom hasn't been making the best business choices recently, so I wouldn't even come close to predicting if they were serious about the 2 million copy thing or not.

First of all Capcom didn't make the new Strider Double Helix did Capcom just published it so technecally Capcom hasn't done anything wtih Strider for years. Now with Double Helix now owned by Amazon I doubt there will be a sequel anyways.

There are a lot of classic characters that are in dire need of proper reboots. I had really high hopes for this game based on my memories of Strider, but alas. Even though Capcom didn't develop it, they've been making some questionable decisions when it comes to games lately.

All I know is that Strider on the mega drive was one horrific experience... I'd rather take my chances with the NES version.
The genny version had some of the choppiest 1 framed' animations and terrible platforming....it felt like i was drunk off of pixel juice and crammed in some 16-bit futuristic carnival with no way out!
I recommend NES Strider only if you can handle a tricky "triangle jump" and some good ole' classic NES glitches. I liked the game overall.

@WaveWarlock: I have played the new Strider on PS4 and I enjoyed it. It is a metroidvania style game though but sadly I never played the original games on the Arcade or NES or Genny so I can't really say if its better, the same or worst. But on its own it was a good game for its price. I had fun with it.

@WaveWarlock: No I haven't. If it came out for the Wii U I probably would get it but I don't use the PS3 that much anymore. As for Strider (NES), remember it's somewhat glitchy. If you want buttery smooth gameplay, than don't bother with it.
