So, I'm trying to go back and find all the exits in SMW (not easy to just find them....) and I feel like I have all the exits but I know for a fact that stuff changes when you do, and nothing's changed. 2 questions that if answered might help me:
1) Are there ANY ghost houses with only 1 exit? 2) I'm assuming that after getting all the exits I have to beat Bowser again (although I don't know that). So I was wondering, when I beat him again do I have to play through the whole level, or can I go in through the "back door" that lets me skip ahead to Bowser. I've been doing the latter, so if it's the former than that might be my problem.
I've checked the maps online and every level with a red dot I've found 2 exits for. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Off the top of my head, Vanilla Ghost House only has one exit.
Also, after getting all the exits, you can either defeat Bowser or play a ghost house if you like... basically all you have to do is save the game.

The only bad thing about Super Mario World (and I mean at all!) is that there's no way of knowing when you've gotten all of the exits for a certain level. The red dot lets you know that there's more than one way out, but that doesn't mean there's only two. A few times in the game, at least, there are more. So it's pretty tough to keep straight in your mind which levels you've found all exits for, and which you haven't.
I had a Nintendo-published guide as a kid which helped me keep track...I'd just a checkmark in the book when I found them. The above link may help you similarly...good luck man. I think Super Mario World was the first game I ever made a significant effort to 100%, and I loved every second of it. Truly one of the best.
I know that if you got all the exits when you select the game it will say 96* on the file select screen. Other than that you have to kinda keep track of what levels and exits you did in your head. I know the Star road levels have 2 exits each and the Special stages with the names like Gnarly and Tubular also have 2 exits thats where I missed a few. Also there is a tricky one in the Forest that alot of people miss too. You can also check Youtube as well for a video of a play through to see exactly how to get the exits.

Thanks for the help guys! I forgot to mention I was playing the GBA version (since I've had that so long and therefore have actually beaten it and such) but I don't think it'll make much of a difference.

It's okay, Tasuki. I only found 88-89 of them by myself. The other 7-8 I found by outside help. I find taking alternate routes in this game fun. And I like how, unlike Super Mario Bros. 3, you could replay the stages whenever you want.
I DID IT!!! While I thank all those who gave tips, I have to thank Chicken Brutus for the link. It made me realize that I was missing one very obvious exit (obvious in the sense of what level it was in, not in how to get it).
But still, all of you who gave tips, thank you very much.

It doesn't matter if there's more than one "normal" exit. Just finding one of those is enough. (and I hear the EU version turns the "96" on the title screen blue instead of the "*96" marking, just to clarify)

Can you tell me how you did it? I still only have 95
