I know most of you would've guessed by now that GBA and DS are my favorite handhelds. The thing about GBA people complained about was its sound quality which I have no issue with it and again the music was really good in GBA standards. While I know that the GBA is old now, Its still gold and the reason why I can't play most of my GBA games anymore is because the battery is dead which is used for saving. Miss Mario VS Donkey Kong and Wario Land 4 and Super Mario Advance 2 and so many. I love all my GBA games and I even enjoyed Kirby Nightmare in dream land and Amazing Mirror.
GBA may have not sold better than Game Boy or Color but it does have a great library of games including SuperStar Saga, Golden Sun, Sonic Advance etc etc etc......

@GuSilverFlame: Well idk, the 3DS is definitely my favorite handheld ever, haha! And, ultimately, I liked the DS better than GBA, too... but maybe that's 'cause I had the GBA when I was little and never really had many games for it.
@Gioku I admit my love for the GBA was because I had tons of friends with GBAs to play together while the oposite was true for the DS

I've actually heard a lot of praise for the GBA. I wouldn't call it underrated. Maybe I'm just missing something, but isn't everyone begging for GBA on the Virtual Console? Once/If that happens, that's when people are going to start hating on it (since, you know, that's how some people are for some reason: they get what they want, and they suddenly don't want it anymore). I personally love my GBA. Like @Gioku, that was my first game console.

GBA was the first console I ever owned and this is the first time I've heard it described as underrated, it had an amazing library of games which would take me far to long to list out.
Edit: Plus it still sold millions of units.
People are saying the GBA is underrated? The games of the GBA is top notch:
Fire Emblem / Sacred Stones
FFVI Advance
Pokémon
Golden Sun
Metroid: Zero Mission / Fusion
F-Zero GP / Maximum Velocity / Climax
Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap
I wouldn't say it is underrated in the slightest and I'm willing to bet the majority would agree. Now, if you said the Atari Lynx is underrated that's a statement I can get behind. But the GBA library is awesome and it has far too many good games to list.

portables always seem to lose my interest about 1-2 years after release, then they kick me back for that last final year before the next new 'nextGen' portable comes out. I've hardly touched my 3DS for the last year or so, consoles just can't be beat.
I was all over the GBA during it's launch, but gradually lost interest not even a year later and ended up quitting cold turkey. I'm now catching up with some GBA goodness, with titles such as Mega Man & Bass, Mega Man Zero ect ect and playing them on my DS Lite.
This I understand completely. I usually don't buy handhelds cause I never play them but I did get the GBA launch day.

It's underrated? Really? When I was a kid, everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) had a GBA. I still play my SP every now and again. It might be the nostalgia talking, but I like it better than the DS.
Mega Man Battle Network
Pokemon Emerald and Fire Red
Mario Kart
F-Zero GP Legend
Metriod Fusion
Minish Cap
Kim Possible
Harry Potter
Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories
Dragon Ball Z: Legacy of Goku 2
I loved the GBA, my only regret is that I didn't get alot of the games that were available for it but at the time I didn't have a job so I couldn't afford video games at the time and my parents wouldn't get me games for birthdays or Christmas cause they weren't an "adult" gift. Mostly what I had on GBA were ports like Fina Fantasy I and II and FF IV and VI Advance as well as both Breath of Fires. Still if it wasn't for the GBA I wouldn't have bought a DS because of the double Castlvania pack that include Aria of Sorrow. I enjoyed that game so much that when I heard that the sequel Dawn of Sorrow was on the DS I ran out and got a DS along with Dawn of Sorrow.
I still have my GBA SP and a DSlite so one day I can catch up on some GBA games mainly the Zelda games and a few others that I can't remember now.

I wouldn't call a system with 81 Million units sold underrated. It may not be the monster that was the DS and let's face it, I don't think Nintendo would be able to replicate that again, but during the early 2000's it was everywhere.
You want underrated? Play a Neo Geo Pocket Color. The thing sold cheap but didn't even last 2 years in western markets. A travesty too, The game was rich in quality titles and even stands as the system with the highest ratio of good to bad games.
