Does anyone know what version of OoT has Ganondorf coughing up blood after you defeat him? It's supposed to be in one of the original N64 versions, but whichever version (Gold Collectors or Normal Gray) is beyond me. Whenever I beat my gray N64 copy, he still coughs up the green "poison." Here's an example of the blood cough: (skip ahead to 3:53) http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3935902815266680328&a...

The blood is only in the very first version of the game. All gold collectors edition carts are version 1.0, so if your cart is gold, you've got blood. There are some gray carts that contain version 1.0, but every other one made doesn't have the blood (version 1.1 and onward).
Okay then that means I must own a revision copy. Thanks.

@dangermouseuk78: I believe that is verion 1.2, not 1.0, so no blood for you. @Xkhaoz: That's right, they had to change it because the original logo was "overly religious."

Another change to the later versions is the music in the fire temple, since there is religious chanting in the background. I have the collector's edition, and always have, so I never knew until fairly recently about all the changes.
@Xkhaoz: That symbol is the same one on all the moveable blocks too, the changed it everywhere it appeared. Also, a bunch of glitches were fixed in the new versions, and the song that plays in the Fire Temple had to be altered because it contained religious chanting.
There's also an awesome glitch in the 1.0 cartridge. At the beginning of the game when the tunnel is blocked by that guy in the kokiri village you can actually walk through him. I usually stand right in front of him holding the analog stick forward and as I do that I use my other hand to gently pull up the right side of the game cartridge until he starts glitching and I walk right through. The key is to pull the cartridge very gently and slow so it only comes out enough to glitch and not crash. As soon as I walk through him I push the cartridge back in and voila I can get a bunch of items from the outside world before even visiting the deku tree.
There's also a code you can enter while in the glitched state that takes you into some debug mode. There is information on it somewhere online.
I prefer the original Fire Temple theme. The new one sounded like a horrible remix of the Shadow Temple. I know they couldn't keep the chanting, but still. And you'd think the edit of the Gerudo emblem would have offended Islamics. That new symbol (at least on the Mirror Shield) is an eyesore...
Edit: And GREEN blood? Really? In the original it looked as though he had coughed up an organ. >:/
T vs E rating the religious chanting they cut out because there's always some whiner in the world that wants to get some attention and complain loud and often enough to get enough people to shame you into bending to their will which is what happened on the Fire Temple. As far as the blood goes, it's there, only finished the game once but I have the original gold cart from day one with the special box and all that, and it disgusts me they'd censor the game downward in later revisions.

Every one knows that Blood is Red, unless Ganondorf's blood is really Green........
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
I have the original Gold collectors edition and I live in Northern California. I know some people who preordered the game got the gray cartridge especially if you were a late preorder and the reason behind this was that they didnt expect the preorder sales to be so high in North America and Japan. As a result some of the North American Gold Cartridges went to Japan to fill their orders and we got gray ones. I was lucky and ordered mine early plus I picked it up as soon as the store opened that day.
As for the chanting and the blood I know that they changed it in newer copies but I have never seen it. I beat the game on N64 and I have the Gamecube collection disc but I never really played that version.
The reason for that was because of Nintendos strict rules on violence and religious icons. ALot of games have "green" blood in it or they color the blood like sweat. As for the religious icons that goes back to the NES days like how they changed the tombstones in Ducktales for the NES.
Heres an interesting article about their censorship.
