The first Zelda game I played and finished was The Adventure of Link. I thought it was great, everyone thought it was difficult and it is. My trick back in the days was saving the 1ups until I was ready to tackle the Great Palace. More than playing skills it was strategy and planning that got me through that game. Once I had the easiest path and full levels I would grab all 1ups and go for it. I was lucky the first time fighting the shadow I didn't know about the trick, no internet back then.

@TylerTheCreator: Mario party 6 was such a good game! The microphone would bug me because it couldn't read my voice very well, but I still that game to death. Gosh, I remember all of the times I would wake up at Five O' clock in the morning so I could play that game several hours before school. My parents had no clue about this hobby until I told them about it Nine years later. It was great.

@VeeFlamesNL: Dude, I remember the DS fat when it came out. It was the coolest thing ever! It had a touchscreen, in 2004! To think, in 2004, we were excited about the kid that had a Gameboy SP so he could play games in the dark. After a solid summer of work, I purchased good ol' fatty and played Super Mario 64 DS. It was great, as a kid, that was my favorite game period. I easily hit several hundred hours on that thing. In fact, I still have that Decade-old launch copy I purchased. Nothing for a gamer is as exciting as launch period, am I right?

First console I ever played was the SNES. Have some pretty fond memories Yoshi's Island, Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Mario All-stars, Donkey Kong Country and Mega Man X. However, wasn't until I got a GameCube with the Zelda Collector's Edition Disc that I got super in to video games. I played pretty much all my games for it a lot, from Mario Kart: Double Dash, Mario Party 7 and Melee to Wind Waker, Soul Calibur 2, Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine and Twilight Princess. That's not even touching the all games on the Namco, Sonic, and Mega Man Anniversary Collection Discs I have. First RPGs were Paper Mario:The Thousand Year Door and Mega Man X: Command Mission on the GameCube, while on my GBA I played Golden Sun, Yu-Gi-Oh! 7 Trials to Glory(Didn't get very far into it lol.), Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Mario and Luigi: Super Star Saga and Final Fantasy 1+2: Dawn of Souls. Despite being mostly a Nintendo fanboy (a trend I didn't really break until my recently obtained PS2), I did play some PC games (it was mostly edutainment stuff, alongside selection of games on a demo disc, until I began using the internet more and then went on to play a lot of flash games) and PS2 games on my aunt's PS2.
I could go on about my life story, but instead I'll cut it off at about the Wii, which around the same time I also started my interest and eventually hobby of game development.

I remember the very first time I was introduced to the NES. Before they were available for sale in the states a few video stores rented the NES out. There was a ma and pa video store right around the corner from where I lived and one day my dad rented an NES from there. It came in this black looking suit case. I remember him hooking it up to my brothers and my tv and when he hit the power switch being awed by the little man running across the screen and the words Super Mario Bros appearing. It was like a cartoon you can control. That night my family and I stayed up most of the night playing SMB and Duck Hunt. I also remember how sad I was when he had to return the system the following Monday.

That's a really cool story.

I have a PS1 again, so I'll have to see if I can grab a copy. Relive the memories.

The Crash Bandicoot games were some of my favorites as a child too. I used to play that at home and at my cousin's house a lot. Played a lot of Resident Evil at my cousin's house too. Good times.

The Crash Bandicoot games (on the Playstation) were my childhood too. Shame the series died out. I wonder why that happened?

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

My first "console" was the Gameboy Color, that I played Pokemon Gold, Super Mario Land 1 and 2, Tetris, Link's Awakening, Zelda Oracle of Seasons, Megaman: Dr. Wily Revenge, and Kirby Dreamland 1 & 2 and on for years. I have so much nostalgia for it really, even though I had very little games for it I played it during most of my free time when I'm not doing homework or chores. My first actual console was the SNES. The time I got a SNES was the best time of my childhood, I still remember the mornings where I woke up at 4 AM and played Super Mario World for a full hour before getting ready for school. Many wonderful nights I played Super Metroid just exploring. Star Fox and F-Zero was some of the most fun I had with my brother. Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6, and Super Mario RPG was some of the most fun I had with an RPG. Super Mario All-Stars, Donkey Kong 1-3, Megaman X 1-3, was miles better than Super Mario Land. The list can go on and on. The Super Nintendo was the thing that got me into gaming, if my wonderful parents didn't buy me a Super Nintendo on Chirstmas, who knows how I would have ended up like.

I have so many memories but the ones that stick out the most are these:

Super Mario Bros / Duck Hunt (NES) - Got an NES for Christmas in 1987 and it was something I didn't even know I wanted. It took me a long time to beat SMB but I remember trying to get to the end of the 1st world in SMB and how long and excruciatingly difficult I found it to be. Of course I was only 4 and I never really played a video game at all before that. Duck Hunt was a lot of fun and was the only light gun game I ever played.

Super Mario Bros. 2 (NES) - The first game I ever beat. Still my favorite NES game to this day. I remember being so shocked at the end that the whole game was just a dream.

DuckTales (NES) - My grandma bought me this before she passed away in 1991 and I loved the show so naturally I had to have this. Little did I know I would be playing one the best games on the system. It took me years to beat it. I always loved the Transylvania level the best.

Super Mario World (SNES) - A friend in elementary school just got SNES and I had no idea about it, and we played it together and beat SMW together and it was incredibly impressive to me back then. At the time the game felt huge and I felt like I just owned the world after the credits rolled

Super Mario Kart (SNES) - Incredibly addicting and who knew this game would get me into racing games?

Donkey Kong Country series (SNES) - I lumped all 3 games together since they're all fantastic and all 3 are games that showed me how amazingly detailed the SNES could be. The gameplay was also near perfect. I spent ages playing and replaying each game. Still do.

Super Mario 64 (N64) - The single most impressive and influential game I've ever played. If it weren't for this game I might not be a gamer today. One of my all time favorite games that showed me just how huge and special 3D worlds could be.
