Ecco the Dolphin. The first two games had a really interesting story line, and the gameplay could honestly benefit from an upgrade. On top of that, the second game ended on a cliffhanger that has never been resolved. I know the odds are about as high as Alex Kidd getting a reboot, but I can still dream.

True on all counts. Retro better be working on F-Zero. They did say after DK was released that they were "working on something everyone wants them to". And I think Ice Climbers and Balloon Fight could do with an update. At the very least Ice Climbers, considering they're in Smash Bros.
And no, Ecco does not need an update. We don't need the world to go into a mass coma of epic boredom.

I understand that the levels can be a bit tedious, which is one of the reasons why a retooling would be good for the series. Just because something was sub par before, doesn't mean an update would be just as bad. Updates are usually intended to make something better. And if you're willing to suspend your disbelief, the story about a dolphin who travels through time to stop an alien invasion can be kind of engaging.
Oh, and it'd be nice to see a truly fantastic successor to Rocket Knight Adventures. That game was superb. And Streets of Rage 4 would be epic too.

Zelda II. Needs gameplay improvements as well as graphical updates. A remake would be greatly appreciated, but so would a new game with this style, just take note from the Legend of Princess and keep Link using tools instead of Magic.
Doki Doki Panic does't need a remake so much as it needs a new, modern day sequel. Heck, we can even have it localized as New Super Mario Bros 2/USA.
Banjo Kazooie and Tooie should have been remade to promote Banjo Threeie. Instead we got them both ported to Xbox Live and got a Banjo Tooie Sequel minus Banjo Kazooie gameplay.
They should have the team that made Scott Pilgrim the Game do a River City Ransom game. Not like Scott Pilgrim the game can get a sequel anyway.
I was outraged to hear that Bonk: Brink of Extinction was canceled. So I'm going to go ahead and say that Bonk should return... but not like he was going to. Make the graphics hand drawn. The graphics was one of the most charming points about the original Bonk games.
BattleToads needs to come back. It was allegedly planned for the GBA, but from what I saw, it was terrible, and extremely easy, and the Toads looked much more kid friendly and cartoony. Less muscular. No Me Gusta. Gimmie a BattleToads in 3D.
I'd like another Wario Wolrd style game, but less brawling, more platforming. Also Bring in some of Wario's power ups.
I'd like more Super Mario Land games... you know. With unique enemies and Antagonists, no Peach, Bowser, or Luigi.
I think the Rampage series needs an update. Smashing buildings repetitively until the army machines overwhealm you is fun for a bit, but it's been like that since the original game. How about we actually give the creatures powers, and pit them against other giant monsters, in 3D or something. I don't know. It's sad when the biggest improvement to the series is being able to climb on the front of the buildings instead of just the sides.
Ice Climbers... bring em back. The original sucked, but had potential, it was mostly the bad jumping physics that made it bad. But a new game could have a whole lot more done to it. Think Donkey Kong on the arcade, and how it was changed into something else on the Gameboy. Just don't derail it with wind-up toys that make the game into a lemmings knockoff ( Rest in Peace Mario Vrs. Donkey Kong series. )
Various Data East IPs. We are about to see a new entry in the long dormant Burger Time franchise. So... how about we see the rebirth of Joe and Mac/Caveman Ninja, Bad Dudes, Karnov, and such. Keep in mind, a bad game in the past, doesn't have to be reincarnated as another bad game.
Mario Bros. Come on, if they updated with game with some real effort, instead of those lazy GBA updates, it could be a really awesome 3DS/Wii ware multiplayer game. Think of it, power ups, enemies, level layouts, special moves, and multiple characters would bring a lot to this little high score game. They could add new gameplay modes too, instead of kill all enemies, you could have to battle the other player, collect 10 stars, hold back a persistent enemy, ect. I just see lots of missed potential with the original Mario Bros, especially after playing the demo for a long dead fangame update to this game.
Pokemon Snap. In the age of Motion/Gyro Controls, it would be a shame if this doesn't see a sequel.
Mario Paint. In the age of Touch Controls and SD cart photo sharing, it'd be a shame if this doesn't see a sequel.
Mario and Wario. ...is what should have been made instead of veering the Mario Vrs. Donkeykong series off of Platforming. Once again, touch screen controls, perfect for this game.
I don't always give myself signatures, but when I do, you just read it.
Mario Kart: Double Dash - I really want to see a Mario Kart that is more dynamic in terms of item mechanics again.
Super Mario Sunshine - In my opinion, it is the only 3D Mario game built to have a sequel considering how the game left off with Il Piantissimo gazing at the "magical piantbrush."
Super Mario Land - They have done a New Super Mario Brothers, so it should be possible to pull this off. While we do have Super Mario 3D Land, it's clearly more inspired from the NSMB Series. A New Super Mario Land would have bells, and wouldn't have Bowser as the main antagonist if at all.
Metroid Zero Mission - Just want to see a new 2D Metroid. I think it would be best to let WayForward handle it on the eShop.
Chibi-Robo Park Patrol - Simple solution really, Nintendo just needs to bring the third installment stateside. Would be a good way to keep the DS going, maybe make new bundles with it included as well.
Pikmin 2 - Not sure if I'll get a Wii U for Pikmin 3, but I still do want to see the follow up.
Electroplankton - A retail sequel for the 3DS, not an order online deal again

Battletoads definitely needs a return, but not in 3D. I don't feel like the series would work in 3D.

Once more I agree. The most recent game was fun, but it's definitely a series in need of major updating. I don't think they should deter from the sideview, one line cities that all the other games have had, but I think they should make that formula more fun and lasting.

And another agreed. I really loved the SMB3 version of it. I think they should make a 3DS game version with all these improvements, as well as online. I think it'd be a very fun game if they did.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii (I just want a new level pack, really; Nintendo should start doing DLC)
Sonic Colors (the only proof that Sega can make a great 3D Sonic game)
Sunshine best mario game ever? I liked it, but that's a bit much XD I agree Nintendo needs to embrace DLC. New levels would be amazing. Sonic Generations is also looking to be another great Sonic game, so you should pick that one up if you're looking for some good sonic fun. I find it kind of funny that most of your games were pretty much new, and you want updates XD

The Ocarina of Time Storyline, I wanna see Link find Navi!
EDIT At the end of the Majora's Mask Magna, Link says "Let's go find Navi!"
It would be a nice surprise to get a Zelda game that's actually a third chapter to a certain Zelda. We only ever get two. And it's usually a sequel to whatever the last generation of Zelda was ( with Phantom Hourglass being the only exception )
Lots of fans have these preconceived notions of how a franchise is handled, and they don't realize that they could be shattered easily, it just takes one unexpected announcement. Something like this would cause a big uproar with Zelda fans, and I'd enjoy every moment of it.

Lemme rephrase. Keep magic, but don't do away with tools. And I do think it would be nice if they did some minor gameplay movements. A backflip would make for good dodging, and I'd like to see some rapid swinging motion with the sword, instead of the old fashioned thrust.

It should be expanded into a 3D action game. I doubt Zelda II will ever be remade, though. As long as it had "Zelda" in the title, it would alienate lots of players.
And I wish they would bring back the idea of Link "learning" magic in new games.

Phantom Hourglass is the sequel to Wind Waker, which was a last gen. Zelda game at the time, unless you're only referring to handheld Zeldas. Spirit Tracks would also be the third, though distance, sequel in that arc.
