The problem with the DS is that it doesn't support the GBA multiplayer mode. I prefer the GBA SP over the Micro, anyway because it plays cardridges from older Game Boy systems as well.
I'd have to echo the comment about it not working with Zelda FSA or Crystal Chronicles...which are pretty much the only reason I'd ever want another GBA anyway
They're pretty clean though--I got my ex-roommate (R.I.P.) one for his birthday back in 06 I think and played through a few hours of the GBA Tales of Phantasia on it and it looked great!

I just ordered one for 25 euros and I've got Fire Emblem, Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age on the shelf in the gameroom, unplayed. I can't wait to check them out on this thing.

Just saw this thread and thought I'd revive it. Any way I have a Gameboy Micro and if you can get one under $50, which is sort of hard, it is totally worth it. Like the DSi XL this a luxury console released at the end of the systems life. Overall I'd give this gameboy an 8.5/10

It really is too bad it doesn't support older Game Boy and Game Boy Color cardridges. Other than that, the crystal-clear screen, small size and sleek look are awesome.
I bought mine from my friend's brother for a trifling £10! What a bargain! The only problem I have with it is the small screen, but it's a small price to pay for it's portable(ness). It's so streamlined it can break the sound barrier if you throw it fast enough.
I just got one of these second hand off ebay, mainly because I'm travelling a fair bit and it's tiny. I never played through SMW2 on my original GBA. The screen is so bright compared to the GBA, although tiny. Overall the build quality seems great, and as I paid £10 as well can't complain. If the 3DS battery doesn't last a full flight I've got this to back up!
I just wondering, but for the people who have this tiny and awesome system what faceplate do you have? I have the Camo Faceplate took me forever but when I got mine I found a Camo Faceplate one on Ebay for 45 bucks.

I'm just going to hope that GBA games become available on the 3DS VC and then I won't have to worry about all this, especially since the 3DS VC is already confirmed to have classic GB and GBC games. If they do then the 3DS will be able to play games for all nintendo handhelds since the GB!!!!!!
If the 3DS has not been discontinued SM3DL and MK7 are awesome games, but if the 3DS has been discontinued Sony has taken over the world. It is not true that both Sony has taken over the world and SM3DL and MK7 are not awesome games. Therefore:Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 are...
I have to say it, the Micro is the most badass looking of all the GBAs. I've been trying to find one going cheaply. Only downside is you can't play GBC games or original GB games, which kinda sucks.
I wish I never sold my SP, that thing was awesome. Small, sleek, pocket-sized bundle of fun and with the 700+ GBA games, you really got the bang for your buck.
The 3DS might be the newest and the most advanced portable handheld from Nintendo so far. But the Micro is still pretty awesome, shame that it was released by the end of the GBAs life span.
I picked up a GB Micro just last week and the screen is fantastic. The system really is small enough to fit in your pocket, the DS Lite etc are nowhere near as good for portability as the Micro. So handy to just stick in your pocket on a trip out.
If you can handle impossibly small fonts and teeny tiny controls, the Micro is for you. I personally love it because its more portable than any other Nintendo hand held. It literally fits in any pocket and its got a pretty decent battery life for a little system. Definitely worth it
Of course! A Game Boy micro plays GBA games in what looks like HD. The display is very nice, it's small, very portable, and discreet. You can't exactly lug around a GBA and expect people not to look at you funny. A GB micro can easily be mistaken for a phone.
When all else fails, eat a taco.
