I agree that it is the best portable ever. While the N64 will remain as my favorite system ever, the GBA might be my 2nd favorite, beating the SNES because it had all the SNES's amazing games, was portable, plus more amazing, innovative games and remakes.

Currently Playing:
Xbox 360: Arkham City, MW3, Gears 3, UMV3, Battlefield 3
PS3: inFAMOUS 2, LBP 2. Rachet & Clank: All 4 One, Uncharted 3, Resistance 3
Xperia Play: Crash Bandicoot
iOS: Sonic CD, Infinity Blade, Arkham City Lockdown, Mega Man X, Chrono Trigger

In terms of potential? I'm going to say the 3DS. 3D and possibly tons of GBA games anyways. But it's still new and without a library at all.

So for now, I'm going to go with the GBA. I mean, it can play Game Boy and Game Boy Color games, too. Not to mention the HUGE library of games, many of them SNES remakes, which is my favorite system in general. Even then, the games are 16-bit. I can't help but see it as a portable SNES, just missing a lot of the classic games but with a bunch more of its own.

Nintendo - Where even first person shooters ooze creativity.

In my opinion, the DS was too innovative and too diverse. Now that I've got a 3DS, I can get DS games too, but I don't see much to get. Too much of its library consists of stupid new casual genres, boring puzzle games, games with unlikably weird experimental control schemes, and games that defy all description other than insane, super wacky Japanese c***. The GBA's lineup in TONS better.

You sure you're looking in the right place? Because I have about 50 DS games that don't really fit any of the categories you just described. Not that I don't agree that the GBA's line-up was better, but still.

well you have like 300 games probably so... chaces are 50 wont be on that genre

sorry I disagree GBA is probably the worst Nintedno handheld, simply because it was full of remakes, more then the 3DS has I mean you have LG/FR, FF 1+2, FF4-6, Mario advance series Street Fighter II,Mother 1 + 2, Klonoa, NES classic series, Metroid Zero Mission,Kirby NiDL, and ALTTP/4Swords, and other 3rd parties im missing, granted it had a lot of great titles that I hope come as ambassador games, but all in all GBA had too many remakes.

pfft this coming from a guy who cant spell nintendo and remakes are good. imo gb and gbc are worse

Equals bad aspect in your view, which is then equivalent to LEAVE.

Yeah probably as far as portables go. I mean like Corbs there said it's like a portable SNES, and if you look at the few 3D games it renders them very similarly to the Sega Saturn which wasn't really a 3D system either as like SNES it did it on the fly in software too (check the VRally rally car game on GBA vs the Sega Rally game, they both have the same type of terrain right down to the warbling and warping road polygons due to the coding.)

That said though I still believe the old 8bit GB/C system, the original Gameboy/Color era was the best one for software, but the GBA really deserves the nod because it allows every last game from that system and its own to run. I just bought within the last few weeks a GBA SP 101 Graphite mainly to play GB/C games though I do have like 7 GBA games too(though 3 are nes classics.) I have around 20 GB/C games though and a few in the mail yet which you can see here if you care: http://tanooki.batcave.net/gameboy.html Either way though, I love it, I lost it a few years back due to hard times, and I am going to re-buy most of all the original games I once owned for GB/C as time goes on as I miss and enjoy it. GBA I have an attachment to as well, but it never drew me in as much, close, but not as much, but that also could be because I was a kid/teen with the GB/C setup (came out in 89 and I was 12 then.)
