I kinda like it, but the way it tries to make itself strategy oriented is kinda awkward and clunky. Apparently it has a small following that lurks in the shadows.
I kinda enjoy it. It makes me think of a Gauntlet type game with a bit of shoot em up.
But it's probably more worthwhile as an example of Sega Genesis games then as a game on it's own (same with basically every first year NES game that wasn't Mario/Duck Hunt)
yeah i always think about getting this game actually, i may end up doing so...we needed more renovation titles on vc. ive got a few renovation carts just never got around to this one for some reason

As @ogo79 said, the SNS-RZ-USA is a prime giveaway that it's not a legit retail cart.
And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)
I have this on my GenMobile, but never really got around to playing it before the system stopped working. which i finally figured out appears to be because one of the resistors is blown

You're partially right, KM; it's also a strategy game and an action game too. I played Gain Ground on Sega Genesis Collection for the PSP, and I think it's: ehh, okay, nothing special. Music is not shabby though.
