The first Mario game I owned was Donkey Kong Jr for the Atari 2600. Mario is evil though and non-playable. I believe I had played Super Mario Brothers before owning Donkey Kong Jr. though.

Technically I guess it was Donkey Kong on the Intellivision. After that it was the SMB/Duck Hunt cart though.

My first Mario game was a Donkey Kong port for the Commodore 64.

If that doesn't count as a proper Mario game,
a few years later I played a Mario Bros. port, again on the Commodore 64.

SMB1/Duck Hunt. It's technically my older brother's, so Super Mario World is the first I really owned.

Some kind of Donkey Kong port or emulator. But my first real one was Super Mario Advance. I still haven't beat it since I lost the cartridge, so I guess I should work on the Wii All-Stars version.
