Back in 1989/90 I went mad for a console that never saw a release. It was the Konix Multisystem. Konix went bust before they had a chance to get it out on the street but I was lucky enough to play on the prototype at the PC Show, Earls Court London. I'm looking for anyone else who knows about this console or the guy who faithfully converted his games to it (Jeff Minter). Basically, can anyone who knows what I'm going on about join this facebopok group ... http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=302186507747
I remember reading about the Konix system in American video game magizines in the the late 80s. It's tragic it never came out. I remember it had a really crazy looking chair.

Not on facebook. However, I do remember the hype surrounding the Konix Multisysytem.
Retro gamer (before the magazine moved publisher) had some video of a prototype machine running on their cover disc. It looked pretty good compared to what was available at the time, the Megadrive was fairly new on the market at the time and the amiga/st were the most popular computers. I think the game they showed running was an update of Metagalactic Llamas. The peripherals were pretty ambitious, mimicking stuff that had only been previously available in arcades, and i guess the costs involved in getting something so different to market drove them out of business. The only other game I remember seeing screenshots for was Hammerfist, which did later get published on the home computers of the day after the Konix failed to materialise.
