Galaxy. I loved everything about it, and I really loved how levels were more linear than 64. Galaxy is perfection, I cannot find a single flaw in that game.
As for Sunshine, I agree it is very underrated. Though its not as good as Galaxy or 64, it was still loads of fun to play. FLUDD really made the game feel new and fresh, and play so differently they felt like a different game rather than a sequel. which I really liked. If you've played Halo before, Im sure you know what I mean. The first one blew you away, but then the second was more of the same with only a few new additions (aa few more weapons, vehicles, and 2 new enemies), while Halo 3 made it just feel repetitive. Granted those games are a trilogy, its still no excuse. So thats why I like Sunshine, it plays completely different, while still feeling Mario.
But yeah, Galaxy pwns more

My all-time favorite is Super Mario Galaxy. SMB3 for me was impossible. I really suck at it. But it was fun. I have played SMB1, SMB2, and SMW through brawl, and decided to get SMW later on. I LOVED sunshine, but loved galaxy more. 64 was awesome, but the DS version was superior. NSMB is very fun, too. That game needs a sequel. I never played Super Mario Land, but I hope I can get a chance through DSi VC.

Super Mario Galaxy.
SPOILER! (I'm assuming everyone knows this, but just to be safe)
I love Galaxy, but there is one thing wrong with it. When you get 120 stars, instead of giving you an extra level to play or the option to play as Luigi, you have to complete the entire game again with very minimal differences before getting the 121st star. That irritated me. Other than that it's great.

I agree with that, but Super Mario Galaxy is still the best!

I regularly tell people that Super Mario Galaxy is probably the best game I've ever played, and for a hardcore Sega fan to say that means it must be pretty near the top of the pile. Truth be told I even think it's better than Super Mario Bros. 3, which until Galaxy was my secret second-favourite game ever - don't tell Sonic!
I am not ignoring you. I just do not post much.

Super mario sunshine,I know a lot of people complain about the nozzle but I thought it was a cool edition, the music is epic, the levels are very well designed and the game is very well done.

I know everybody hates sunshine, but I LOVED that game.
Sunshine isn't bad (I'd give it a 7/10) but I'd still call it the worst main series Mario game, although New Super Mario Bros. is pretty close too it

Super Mario World DEFINITELY. Super Mario Sunshine was amazing too, but pales in comparison to SMW. SMW2 was also really good, though...gah! so many good choices. I didn't like SMG very much, and SM64 was good, but not the best. Super Mario World all the way!

Super Mario Galaxy, everything about that game makes you proud you own the game.
Second for me is Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. I loved the humor and the references to other Mario games.
