Probably Hades from Kid Icarus: Uprising. Such a great personality, and the final battle with him is probably my favourite boss fight ever.

...he's the perfect contrast to the rest of the game which is just super happy and cute and fun... and then you get to this guy and s*** gets real, hahaha!

Aside from King Koopa, I'd have to give it to Ganon from The Legend of Zelda on the NES. The fight against him was classic and finding him was a real pain, so the rewarding feeling I felt when I finally downed him for the first time was quite thrilling.

I am also a huge Sepharoth fan from FFVII as well as a fan of Mr X from Kung Fu on the NES, but man.....I could go on forever.

At the moment, definitely Bowser. Oh sure, the others are definitely cool (indeed, about half the villains posted in this thread I consider great characters in general), but damn, this guy is functionally immortal. Can anyone else in fiction survive this many falls, lava pits, explosions, bullets, black holes and supernovas? Probably not, and it makes me wonder just how screwed any non Mario characters would be against him.

I always thought Agria from Tales of Xillia was a pretty good villain.

Fawful

Where do I even start. Fawful is absolutely filled with charm, hilarity, and chortles. It's hard to really describe what makes him so great.

The Black Knight

The Black Knight is probably the strongest example of fear incarnate in Fire Emblem. I panicked every time he appeared on field, but I was dilly-dallying.

Metal Face

I can't say I've ever loved hating anyone quite as much as Metal Face. He's the longest running and most in-your-face villain in Xenoblade by far. It probably helps that he was the first villain to ever give me the Aeris Effect.
