Gosh, it's been awhile since I made a thread.
Anyway, Aladdin from Disney is one of my many favorite cartoon movies of all time. It's a really good movie. I also like the video game adaptations of the movie that I played. I'll get to the versions I've played later.
What's your favorite version of Aladdin?

I would have to says the Genesis version. Mainly because that was the first version I tried and the one I beat. Also, I thought the music AND visuals were done better in the Genesis version.

I would say SNES. The game is absolutly amazing and fun to play. Although extremely easy, its great fun.

Aladdin came out on three formats: MegaDrive, SNES, and Game Gear/Master System.
I never played the GG/SMS versions, but I have played the PC port of the MegaDrive version, which I never beat as a kid (and I made it up to Jafar's cobra form. ). The PC port was fun, but hard (well, when I was little). It no longer works on our new computers, so I'm wondering if I should obtain a MegaDrive. I do happen to own the Game Boy Pocket and Game Boy Color (Europe-only) ports of the MegaDrive version, but in the end I thought they were decent, but not as good as the original MD game. For one thing, they're missing the Abu bonus stages, and Genie's Lamp stage. They were fun.
Back in 2005, when Hurricane Rita was threatening Texas, me and my family escaped it to one of my mom's friend's house. I played the SNES version, and beat it. It was very memorable an experience, and the music was awesome. I am aware of the GBA port of the SNES game's existence, but I'm a little hesitant.
I don't know which version I consider my favorite, though I'm tempted to say the MegaDrive iterations (PC/GBP/GBC).

I've played both, and the SNES version is 234684687686 times better than the Genesis version.

The Game Gear version sucks. I have the SNES version, and it rocks, although I've yet to get past the Cave of Wonders.

Hey, I liked the Game Gear version. But I'll go with the SNES version, it's a lot of fun.

I've never played the SNES version, but I love the Genesis version. I've managed to beat all of the levels except the last one, just not all in a row (level select and level skip cheats). Seeing as I haven't beaten anywhere near as high a ratio of levels compared to total levels (without using gameplay-related cheats) in most of my Genesis games, I don't think it's that hard, especially if you play on Easy. Starting from the beginning, I usually get a Game Over in "Escape from the Cave" (the on-foot one, not the one flying on Carpet). The biggest problem I have with the game is that each image in the static image cutscenes stays up for way too long. Yes, you can skip them, but I like watching cutscenes sometimes.

By the way, Aladdin is still my favorite Disney animated movie (plus Jasmine is the hottest Disney animated girl).

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

The SNES version is in no way comparable to the gorgeous and wonderfully playable Genesis version. Don't get me wrong: The SNES version still is a nice game, but it's unbelievable how Capcom got their ass served by Virgin of all companies.

I considered giving a critical analysis of the Game Boy Pocket and Game Boy Color ports of the MegaDrive game, but I'm worried that if I do, I might start being hated. So I won't do that.

@StarFox - I do recall having a bit of a hard time during this one portion of the Cave of Wonders (the self-scrolling bit) back in 2005 on the SNES. The music is still wonderful, and Jafar.... lol Shortly after having defeated Jafar's cobra form, what was once a "I did it!" thought quickly turned into a "Oh, my Stars!" moment. It was definitely unexpected, and a moment I'll never forget.

Now, the Game Boy Pocket port the MegaDrive original was done in 1994, when Virgin decided to do licensed titles on all formats. Of course, I find myself wondering what a Game Boy Pocket port of the SNES Aladdin would've been like. I'll bet it would've been good.

The Game Gear version was actually pretty unique. No, I didn't own a GG at any point, but it was one of many things I played years ago on a big emulation binge.

SNES, hands down. great game. as was the SNES Lion King. Disney used to make a quality video game.

I had the Genesis version, so I'ma go with that. Tried the SNES one last year and just didn't like it as much for some reason.

The Game Boy Pocket port of the MegaDrive game is a very weak port. It's beatable, but the negligence to some details (particularly the gameplay and missing stages) just cannot be overlooked.
The Game Boy Color version much improved upon the flaws of the Game Boy Pocket "port", like they made it more playable. However, the graphic style looks close to the MegaDrive original, but it still lacks the Genie's Lamp stage and the Abu bonus stages. The GBC version way 1-ups the GBP version.

A Whole New World is one of my many favorite songs ever, and the console versions of it do not disappoint (especially the SNES versions). I'll post my four favorite video game versions of the song:

Number four:

MegaDrive sound samples sound good. Title and Ending themes of the MegaDrive game.

Number three:

Beautiful rendition of this song.

Another beautiful rendition of the song.

Number One:

This is my number one favorite version of the song. One of the most amazing video game renditions I've heard from a licensed title! I get chills when I hear the final notes of it. It's that good!

The Genesis version was amazing. I wish it would get a second life on the Virtual Console
