Topic: Favorite Metroid Game

Metroid Prime 3 Corruption is awesome but so is Super Metroid.

I'm waiting for Metroid Prime 1 & 2 NPC.

Super Metroid is my favorite, its not too long either the graphics are awesome, and the soundtrack is awesome, you never have a dull moment. Compared to the 3d metroid where they can get quite boring at times plus i also think they lose the feel of samus mobility. She feels pretty tanklike compared to super metroid. I also like the weapon system better in super metroid, its nice they made something similar in metroid prime 3 but i think that was mainly because the wii controls didnt have enough buttons

also it's not nostalgia since i first played a metroid game in 2003 when prime was released and played super metroid only 1½ year ago (almost) when it was released for the VC

My top 3 in order are
1. super metroid
2. Prime 1
3. Prime 3

I have almost all of the Metroid games except for Metroid 2 and Metroid Pinball.

Super Metroid is easily my favorite. No other comes close. Prime was great, but the FPS element made it feel less like a Metroid game.

So I'd say:
1) Super Metroid (SNES)
2) Metroid Prime (GCN)
3) Metroid (NES)

Super Metroid or Metroid Fusion.

I just don't really like the 3D Metroid games. Plus for some reason they make me feel sick (litteraly) so as much as I want to play them I can't for some reason. I wish that Nintendo would bring Metroid back to its 2D roots.

I never really got into the slow pace of the Prime series but I loved Super Metroid. The GBA games for me followed on closely from the SNES game so I loved them as well.

I have to say that although the original NES Metroid is a classic, I never played it when it was originally released and IMO it hasn't aged all that well. I'd much prefer play the GBA Zero Mission remake.

Metroid Fusion. Not nearly as linear as people kept complaining about. In fact you can break the linearity in interesting ways, and get amusingly told off by the computer for it as well.

I'll have to try that it sounds like fun.

Super Metroid is one of my all-time favorite games. I have Prime3 on the Wii, but barely played it half way. It's okay, and I see why some love them, but the 2D ones will always be superior in my book.

Metroid Prime

I didn't care much for Super Metroid. And Metroid Fusion has to be one of the most linear, poorly designed (stage design wise) games around. It's pretty much bombing walls to make a hole, and then repeating until a boss fight, then going back to bombing walls again.

That's not the Metroid Fusion I played...

Super Metroid. It is one of the best 2d adventure games of all time. The graphic is awsome for a snes game. The soundtrack is still today one of the best, building up one of the best atmosphere you can find in a game. The gameplay is great too. Fun boss fights that gives a bit of a challenge. Some different enemies in the different locations help's out so it doesn't feel so repetetive.
To sum it all: A brilliant game.

Zero Mission

I say the best Metroid game is Super Metroid. I love this game because it gave us the sense of issolation, the game gave us chills done our spines because of the scary music and it still does. The game is superior to any 2D or 3D Metroid game in my opinon
