We all know that there have been a lot of Metroid games over the years. So which one is your favorite. Do you like the 2d side scrolling ones or the FP ones, or better yet the pinball one? Here is my top 3 favorites so far is MP3 Them MP1 and last but not least is MPH.
3: Metroid Prime 1 2: Super Metroid 1: MP3: Corruption Metroid in my opinion is better than most of Nintendo`s franchises. As for MP3 Corruption, that game is just plain fun!

Prime 3 is my favorite. It's just such a perfect game in every way. I love it, and can't wait for the NPC version of MP2. (I've never played that one before, and if it now controls like 3, I'll be very excited.)
I think Hunters is one of the absolute best first-person shooters there is, but if I had to choose a favorite, it would be the original Metroid with Super Metroid close behind. If they could make something more in the original Metroid's style but with a difficulty closer to Super Metroid's, you might just have yourself a perfect game. The first Prime was good, but it is tiresome to replay, and the sequels just get worse and worse. The morphball puzzles get on my nerves. They're so out of place. I don't understand why Zelda and Metroid have become so focused on puzzles... oh well. I know the first Metroid is absurdly hard at times, but the sense of exploring an alien planet has never been so well portrayed since.
1. Metroid Prime 2 - this is the most challenging and underrated in the trilogy. It has so much depth and atmosphere. 2. Metroid Prime 1 3. Metroid Prime 3 4. Super Metroid 5. I don't like the others.
Metroid Prime Hunters is my favorite, due to the online multiplayer and voice chat (looking for people to play against). Then Metroid Prime 3, for the controls and the amazing graphics
I would say Metroid Prime 3. The bombing runs were a pleasant surprise and the controls were perfect with the Wiimote.

Super Metroid is easily the best Metroid game ever followed by Metroid: Zero Mission! The Metroid: Prime series are good games but never quite captured that Metroid feel for me. I do give props to Retro Studios for doing something unique with the franchise and actually pulling it off. On paper it sounded like a terrible idea at the time but I think they did a pretty good job with the Prime series. With that said, I feel its time for Metroid to return to its true and greatest form: 2D! How about giving it the New Super Mario Bros. treatment? Or what about bringing it to Wii? Remember it was Super Metroid that inspired Castlevania: Symphony of the Night; its time for the REAL Metroid to make its return! It can be and should be done! Make it happen Nintendo!
I think the Prime series was better than expected. I didn't care for Prime 2, but the first and the last ones were awesome! I like that they have elements of FPS, but still are adventure games at heart.
I love the 2D Metroid games too. Metroid was my second NES game I got after Tiger Heli!
Anyways, I guess the Japanese market never cared for any Metroid game, which is a shame. So Retro Studies put their own spin on it. Pehaps, they should' ve made the view point be behind Samus like in the 3D Zelda games. Although, I get the feeling that they wanted the player to feel like they were inside the cool suit.

The most recent 2D Metroid efforts were disappointing (not bad, but not up to par with what Metroid used to mean), so I'm rather indifferent as to how the series continues from here, 2D or 3D. I've lost my confidence in Nintendo to do right by Metroid. I don't think they know what to do with it without Gunpei Yokoi. My favorite Metroid since Super Metroid was actually Hunters. Nintendo should consider making a multi-player centric Hunters for Wii. That would rock my world, but please for the sake of Pete, limit time in alt-forms or make them less powerful!
