Topic: Favorite 2D Platformer

What's your favorite 2D platformer..... EVER!?!??

Mine is Super Mario World.

I guess....Super Mario Bros. 3 or World or Donkey Kong Country...

DoReMi Fantasy: Milon's DokiDoki Adventure.

Tied between New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Yoshi's Island.

Tough question. The first thing that comes to mind is NSMB Wii.

Donkey Kong Country 2. I don't think I've played a better 2-D platformer. Mario 3 comes pretty close though.

Yoshi Island is my favorite.

Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land by far.

@Yasume Mega Man is more of an action game than a platformer.

Karnov was close second.

First, most platformers are pretty action games as well.
Second, if Mega Man is not a platformer than Resident Evil is made for 3-year-olds. It is one of the platformiest platformers I've ever played with cleverly designed levels and lots of tricky jumps.

Faxanadu, Zelda II, A Boy and His Blob (Wii)

It is, and always will be, Sonic the Hedgehog. It's so stylish and the graphics and gameplay are incredible. It was my first ever 16-bit game and it still holds a great deal of nostalgia for me. As strange as it sounds, I don't buy a games console unless it has Sonic the Hedgehog on it (or, as with the Dreamcast, I think there's a good chance it'll be released on it) fortunately it happens in most cases.
