Any good Dreamcast games? No real preference, though please no imports unless you know of an easy way to make a Dreamcast Region-free. Oh, and no games that got ported to later consoles unless the Dreamcast version is significantly better and/or easier to find.
Tech romancer, psychic force, daytona, virtual on, gunbird, powerstone 1 and 2, san fransico rush 2049, marvel vs. Capcom 2. Many more but back to work for me.
Rez, Record of Lodoss War, Sega Rally, Hydro Thunder, ILL Bleed, Zombie Revenge (a House of the Dead themed 3d Beat 'em up, really cool), Cannon Spike, Expendable, Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves, Gundam Side Story 0079, Maken X... there are sooo many good games... I miss my DreamCast I hope it still works.
Now playing: (Wii - DJ Hero 2) (WiiWare / VC - -- / --) (Game Cube - Second Sight) (DS / GBA - Eragon / --) (Xbox360 - Burnout Paradise) (XBLA / XBIG - Puzzle Quest / --) Wii FC - 2346 1195 9083 7926 XBOX360 Gamertag - BrazCanMan
Sweet, thanks guys. I'll definitely look into those. I'd forget I was interested in some of those already, like ILL Breed. Anybody else have any suggestions?
Record of the Lodoss War (think diablo on PC/ps1.) Also the stuff Midway did (R2R Boxing, Hydro Thunder, and Gauntlet) were when applicable arcade beautifully spot on and probably the last good line of games they did before it began the slow down turn 2 years later into the death they had coming (and I know it I worked for them!) Gundam 0079 was a really fantastic but a bit on the short side game (9 stages I think.) I'd highly suggest looking into anything Sega or Capcom did that had an arcade counterpart as they were just done so amazingly well too. I'm surprised at some of their games listed and I don't see SNK vs Capcom listed or from arcade land Guilty Gear X either.
Also these went unreleased, but if you somehow (don't want to get busted here) find Propeller Arena or Quake (it's a loader that uses your owned PAK files from Quake 1 CD) I'd highly suggest those as something to look into, and also Half-Life Blue Shift as well.
Bangai-O Alien Front Online - still fun offline Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - better than the PSX version, I hear Rayman 2: The Great Escape - easily the best version Grandia II Giga Wing 1& 2 Mars Matrix - increadibly intense shoot'em up Dynamite Cop - awsome 3D beat'em up, the sequal to Die Hard Arcade on the Saturn Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense - awsome car combat game, simular to Twisted Metal. One of my fave games on the DC.
The Dreamcast was pretty sweet. I really need to get one of my own one of these days. So I can stop mooching off my friends.

Thanks for the info, mates. I'd say I'd be sure to look into those, but I'd say those descriptions are convincing enough.

Kinda hard to do that with a real console, ain't it?
Get the DCX from ebay and you are good to go to run all imports at 60hz.
Where would I start with a topic like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Crazy Taxi 1 and 2 Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 Shenmue 1 and 2 SFA3 Sf3 double impact / third strike Kof 1999 upto 2002 Garou Last Blade Virtual On Daytona VF3 Sega Rally 2 Hotd 2 / confidential mission Rez Ikaruga Mars Matrix Shikigami 2 Triggerheart excelica Powerstone 2 Grandia 2 Outrigger List goes on and on and on.
You didn't say which country you are in, meaning I don't know if I should mention Shenmue 2, Rez and Headhunter among others. They're pretty awesome (infact I'd say incredible) games that didn't make it to the US but were released in the UK. I know Shenmue 2 is on the XBox but I prefer it on the Dreamcast so you can continue your adventure from your Shenmue 1 save file.
You shouldn't worry about titles being import only though. It's very easy to play imports on Dreamcast - you just need a CDX disc, as someone has already mentioned) and you don't need to modify the console at all. Infact the CDX disc even lets you play any games in 60hz if you're in the UK.

Knew someone would come through for me. Though it's called the Sega Dreamcast Super Converter in my region, apparently. I don't even need eBay, Amazon still has some in stock.

Just click on the face, then you'll know all. That's how I know you're from the UK without having to ask.
Anywho, thanks for the Recommendations. Headhunter looks pretty sweet, and probably the best, if not the only Stealth-Action game for the Dreamcast. And I didn't realize you could continue your save from Shenmue 1 on Shenmue 2 if you got the Dreamcast version. I'll have to look into that.
There are few 'not-recommendable' games for the Dreamcast in my opinion, as it is my 2nd most favourite console ever. Shenmue was my favourite game on it, it was such an epic and atmospheric tale, never surpassed. Jet Set/Grind Radio is amazing too, along with Daytona USA 2001, Metropolis Street Racer, Red Dog, Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, Virtua Tennis (i don't like sports games, but this one...), Resident Evil 2-Code : Veronica, Headhunter, Ecco Defender of the Future, Cannon Spike, House of the Dead 2, Vanishing Point, MDK 2, Soul Calibur, Marvel VS Capcom 1 & 2, Fighting Vipers, Kiss Psycho Circus, Shadowman, Crazy Taxi 1 & 2, Capcom VS SNK Millenium fight 2000, Ferarri F355 Challenge, Zombies Revenge, REZ.....etc etc.
Still got em all and more, in excellent, mint condition, but the Dreamcast's lens is broken i'm afraid
You can get a new one extremely cheaply if you buy a repaired one from ebay with no games, cables and controllers (and you wont need them since you already have them, of course). Like under £10 - well worth it.

Aye, though sadly, from my searching, I can honestly say there's still a lot of crappy Dreamcast games to sort through. 'Course, that's why I'm here.
Fighting Vipers 2 looks pretty game great. Like Virtua Fighter, except not incredibly bland and boring.
Wasn't Ecco: Defender of The Future supposedly really...bad? I know I had a lot of friends who hated it, but they played the PS2 version.
Couldn't you just sell your Dreamcast for parts and get a new one? Then you could play your games again. Just saying.
Mickey: As far as the Quake PC conversion goes it's legal, the company released the loader for it a decade ago. I have no idea how to find it now as they're out of business, but when it was around there was a 'quake maker for dummies' level text file attached. You just take your legal copy of Quake's 'PAK' files that hold all the game data, drop it into a directory on the CD you would be making, and then just use any old Nero or Roxio program and just burn to disk and play. It was interesting as it did save to a VMU and even animated it a little, sadly it nearly ate the entire VMU to keep the sava data.

I bought Ecco about two years ago on the strength of its soundtrack – which is total aces, by the way – but never fired the game up itself. It still looks great though after all these years!
There's probably not much I can recommend that's not already on here, but Mr Driller and Super Magnetic Neo are both very cool and, more importantly, are bright, colourful and feature lots of friendly animals.

Trust me get the DCX as myself and madgear have said and you never have to worry about anything again. EVERYTHING runs and is at 60hz how games should be. One warning. SSF2X / Vampire Chronicle / KOF99 and a few other games will not run in RGB at all so you will need to run them with an AV or VGA cable.
3d games look amazing in RGB but 2d ones dont look so great because they retain the arcade resolutions and dont upscale at all. I remember running Shenmue / Virtua Tennis 2 / VF3 / Crazy Taxi and Daytona in VGA and that was pretty close to gaming heaven.
Also id advise getting SF3 third strike and Capcom VS Snk2.
Mars Matrix and GigaWing 2 if you like bullet hell shooters.
Should i get a Dreamcast? What type of games are on it? I can get one for about $30 btw, so i have a chance.
Yes, get it. It has great games in pretty much every category, including ones you'd never think of. Most of the games aren't too badly priced, either. Hence why I intend on getting one in the not so distant future.
Edit: G-d, I hope you're not bidding on the same one I am!O_O
