Haven't seen a thread about this game yet.

Anyone ever played his game? What do you think of it? I've seen a copy for a couple of bucks in a game store nearby, I'll probably go back soon to pick it up. I suppose it's quite a rare game, as there's little info to be found about it. The graphics had always put me off, even if it's just an early GameCube game, many N64 games look better. As long as the gameplay is somewhat interesting I think it's difficult to pass up on this little gem for such a low price.

It's not great, and kind of a weird game, but if you see it for cheap, especially if locally, it's definitely a good buy. Just note, I don't think it ever came out in the U.S. I don't know what country you're from, so I'm not sure if that's an issue...

I know, it's Europe and Japan only. But I'm from Europe, so I'm covered.

From what I've seen the game looks like beta footage from an unreleased GameCube game, but it's only €5, so I'll try it nonetheless.

To be fair, it's an up-ressed 64DD game.

I know, the 64DD version looks worse than the NGC version. Still, a lot of late N64 games look better than Doshin the Giant. I'm not trying to bash the game for its graphics, but I think that's the reason why it never appealed to me back when it was released.

It came out in the United States it was just packaged poorly. More like an novelty game from my understanding.

Doshin did not get released in America. Japan and Europe only.

Could you be confusing it with Cubivore, another obscure first-party(ish) game?

No, I think he just doesn't care what the topic is actually about...
