Is it just me or is Mario simply not as "floaty" on the SNES as he was on the NES? The switch from SMB 1-3 on the NES to Super Mario World and even All Stars on the SNES is a real pain for me.
I also feel like his traction on the All Stars games are off.
Mario has little to no air control in SMB. SMB2 is his smallest jump. He gets the most height in 3 than in World. Just my take, I have no data to base this on.
I don't have it on hand to check right now, but I'm sure Mario Mania (essentially Nintendo's official Super Mario World SNES guide book) actually compared those in the random trivia spread throughout the book.
