Topic: Do you leave your old consoles plugged in?

Do you leave your retro consoles plugged in even when you're not playing? I do this, but there are others I know of who are worried about power surges and the like. I'm kind of worried that consoles like the Genesis, with their big bulky AC adapters, have problems with being left plugged in. They do get warm after all. Is it ok? Let me know what you do/think.

All of my consoles are plugged in 24/7. That's about 3 consoles and chargers for my DS, PSP, and DSi

I only have enough rooms and tools for only one console at a time to be plugged in.

I would need like 3 power strips otherwise if I wanted them all plugged in..

I don't keep ALL of my consoles plugged in. With some of the older ones I'm worried that leaving the adapters in could cause damage. Don't want to lose my Genesis or it's power supply =)

no, I leave my old consoles in the closet.
So they can never be seen again.
The Wii is starting to look old, time to shove it in the closet

I have a Genesis (model 3) I can hook it up very easily. It sits next to my Wii and they are very happy friends.

Nope i have to swap my out. I own have one powerstrip that i use. I have hooked up a fair amount to it. SNES Xbox PS3 and Wii. But otherwise thats it. If i feel like changing them out i usually change out the SNES one cause the easy Nintendo AV cables from SNES to Gamecube. :3

I have very little space in my lounge, and there's cords all over the floor as it is when there's only one console plugged in.
If I want to use another I'll just get it out and plug it in and then just leave it sitting there until my girlfriend decides to clean up the room for me.

I got one SNES, N64, Wii, and two NES (one PAL another NTSC) all besides the two NES systems are plugged in at the same time. (don't have enough power-adapters to have both NES plugged in the same time)

I've got plenty of retro systems but I leave them in the closet until the urge to play them strikes. My living room would be a mess with all of them out.

Regarding the original post- AC adapters still use a decent amount of electricity even with the system off so you may want to unplug those when you're done.

NES and Super NES AC adapters are standing by waiting just to be plugged in when I am ready to hit or slide the power button.

I play my Genesis, PSX, and Atari 2600 rarely so they are stored away.
