Topic: Completed Stone temple before Great bay temple?

I don't know if I'm the only one but I found out a few years ago that you can "cheat" in majora's mask! You have to get the hook shot at the pirates' fortress before you can do this. once you have the hook shot you enter Ikana Canyon. Now since you haven't gotten the ice arrows in the great bay temple you cant freeze the octos in the water. By freezing them you can cross the Ikana river and hook shot up to the Canyon. Well if you thought this was the only way up, your wrong! Just stand on the very edge of the bank so that your almost falling into the river and make sure that you can barley see the "special" hook shot tree. when you hook shot the tree you will basically go through the wall but now you just entered the canyon, finish hook shooting up the canyon and your in! And since you don't need the ice arrows for the stone temple or the ancient castle of ikana you can beat this whole part of the game before the great bay temple. Its kinda useless but you can get the great fairy's sword which is nice to have. Tell me if you have ever heard of this, because i havent heard any one else do this. Thanks guys

I did it myself, just the other day. I did it simply my memory was foggy about Ikana Canyon, then realized that this has been documented and there are YouTube tutorials and such. I also tried going to fight Skull Kid with only three giants rescued, and as you'd expect, it didn't work.

nice, the first time i did it the right way, but the next time im pretty sure it was a fluke that i found that "cheat", but if they ever make a majoras mask 3d the need to keep that cause i hate beating the great bay temple :3 ill save it for last

great bay temple's boss is easily the toughest 3d zelda boss, but i find swimming through all the tubes fun.

man, that game really has aged excellently...

Something I've learned about discovering cheats: If you've discovered it, someone else already has.

In Ocarina of Time, what I usually do is complete the last 5 temples in this order.
Forest
Water
Fire
Spirit
Shadow

Forest HAS to be first, no way around it because you need the ability to revert back to a child. As for the Fire and Water temples, they are interchangeable in the order. Just as the Shadow and Spirit temples are. You have to complete the Fire/Water temples first though, so the order isn't truly messed up.

you can actually simply go to the forest temple and get the fairy bow and then go to the next temple, get the item (repeat) and then beat the temples in any order you want.... _right?
If i remember correctly, you only need to be a child to complete the last two temples, but i may be wrong...

The same goes for majora's mask.

when i turned to an adult, i got the red and blue tunic, and the iron boots, and the biggorons sword before i went to the forest temple :3

I always get the blue tunic before doing anything as an adult. I <3 the blue tunic.

I second that, Link looks so awesome in the Goron Tunic. And I discovered the Hookshot cheat in Ikana all by myself, although it was fairly recently so it's nothing new to anyone else. I went to Ikana and I forgot you needed the Ice Arrows to proceed, so I looked up at the Hookshot tree and wondered if I could hook onto it from there. Obviously I figured out that you can, and I use it now to whack the Owl statue early so I can easily warp later.
