For those who care, this is the hardest title to find CIB (complete in box) for the original NES. Cart only typically goes for $1,200-$1,500 or slightly more. Final Price on this: $13,105. More than 2x to 3x the typical asking price for a NWC Grey cart... First one to go in open auction in a very long time, if ever.
(BTW, this is the NTSC version which is far more rare than the PAL version)
Wow...just......wow. The stupidity of humanity has reached a new low...sigh...

I was watching that item just by chance, as i was cruising eBay the other day looking for some retro games and saw a listing for an NES set for $8,800. I knew it would close high, but i certianly didn't expect it to reach 5-digit.
Holy crap, the posted question on the auction listing was sad as hell:
"Hey. I'm from the NA forums. Glad to see you made it over. You can trust the people there. This is as exciting to them as it would be for an NFL player to win the Super Bowl. Please let this go the distance. Don't let some smooth talker try to talk you into ending it early. This is truly a momentious occasion in Nintendo collecting. Best of luck with everything George"

rofl, that was me. For the members over at NintendoAge, this was an equivalent of winning a Super Bowl. This is only the second time a CIB copy has gone in open auction. These are some HARDCORE nes collectors over at that forum, but an awesome group of people to shoot the sh*t with about old school Nintendo. Call it sad if you want, but I wanted to see it go the distance in open auction, even if I would never be able to drop that kind of money on something like that

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I was just having some fun.
