Some of these games look awesome. I wouldn't mind playing them. No chance to get them in cartridge form, is there?:)

All these games can be purchased in 2600 cartridge form by visiting:

http://www.atariage.com/store/

If you prefer to make your purchases in real life, contact the site's owner (Albert) and find out which classic game shows he will be attending. He usually sets up a booth with plenty of homebrew carts for sale*. :)

* Don't let the "homebrew" name fool you. These are quality productions with proper labels, manuals, and other goodies. I have a couple of AtariAge produced carts, and I could not be happier with the quality.

I had experience at the Atariage store in the past. The carts are homebrew like thewiirocks said. The carts, labels, and manuals were done in great quality by the times I bought homebrew carts at the Atariage store.

Has anyone actually purchased an AtariVox adapter and how much do they usually cost? I noticed they are out of stock at the AtariAge store.

I think I'm going to finally breakdown and get some Atari 2600 & 7800 homebrews for my upcoming birthday and Christmas. About time Turbo Dude!

I don't own one, but Albert mentioned on a Atariage message board thread that he plans on selling more AtariVox adapters once more of them are finished being built. He mentioned about wanting them in stock by the holidays if possible.

I wonder if Domino Man and Timber would've been possible, considering Tapper was already done? It's a possibility. :3

I think Timber would be possible. There have been more advanced games on the 2600 like Commando for an example.

Right now on Atariage, a person is trying to port Toobin' for the Atari 2600. It is the person's 2nd attempt on it though.

I remember Toobin'! It was a fun title on Midway Arcade Treasures.

Thanks 7th Lutz!

What 7800 games do you recommend? I really would like to get my hands on Space Duel and Pac-Man Collection. That game Wasp looks interesting too.

Asteroids Deluxe- It is an excellent arcade port and it is a fun game.

b*nq - b*nq is the arcade game Q*bert. The author changed the name of the game. b*nq is a great arcade of q*bert. I enjoyed playing the arcade game Q*bert growing up, and it is a great version of it. Take away the sound, it is arcade perfect and the control is great.

Beef Drop VE - Arcade port of Burgertime. Sound isn't as good as the original Beefdrop. I own the original version that came out 3 years ago and I don’t rank as high on a buy list as a result. The odds are the original version of Beef Drop will being at the Atariage store again are slim due to the pokey sound chips would have to be taken out of Ballblazer cartridges. Everything else from the version I played is in Beef Drop VE including different modes in the game. It is a great arcade port of Burgertime otherwise. The author of the game also did b*nq.

Jr. Pac-Man - even better than the Atari 2600 version Jr. Pac-man and that says a lot since Jr. Pac-man for Atari 2600 games is one of my favorite games for the system. I was one of the people at Atariage that tried the game out at different programming stages for feedback purposes for the programmer. The graphics are better than the 2600 version and has all the intermissions. Jr. Pac-man isn't found in Pac-man Collection for the Atari 7800. The author that did Jr. Pac-man did all the pac-man games you found at the Atariage store.

Pac-Man Collection - It is as great as you heard. I own the cartridge. It doesn't have Jr. Pac-man and Super Pac-man. The author of Pac-man Collection didn't know as much about the Atari 7800 in programming as he did 2 years after doing Pac-man Collection.

Space Duel - great as you heard. It is better than Asteroids Deluxe.
Space Invaders - I was of the members of Atariage that played the game for testing purposes at different programming stages as feedback to the programmer. It is a great arcade portand is a great port if you are fan of Space Invaders. It is better than the 2600 version. I am not the biggest Space Invaders fan around and put it least on the buying order as a result.

Super Pac-man - I was of the members of Atariage that played the game for testing purposes at different programming stages as feedback to the programmer. Great arcade port and has all the intermissions like it said. It is not found on Pac-man Collection. I enjoyed playing the game, but I am a bigger fan of Jr. Pac-man and ranked Super Pac-man higher.

Wasp! - I tried it out like other Atariage members did during different programming stages for feedback purposes for the author. It is a simple, but addicting game. Wasp! is one of the best games that came out for the system. Wasp! is one of the top 3 non arcade port games for the Atari 7800 that I played. It is the best non arcade game for the system not named Ballblazer and Midnight Mutants. You don't shoot enemies, but it a blast to play. It is the best non Arcade port out of the 3 non arcade ports by far that were released this decade.

Very informative. Perhaps, you can pass the word to Atariage to add Youtube videos for their 7800 games.

Atariage is aware of it, but their main focus on Atari 2600 games right now for Youtube videos.

What I read on Atari age back on October 17th that Atariage wants to focus on 2600 homebrew games initially for youtube video. The post also states that Atariage would like to cover 5200, 7800 and ColecoVision titles as well for youtube videos.

atari homebrew is awesome. probably the only system where the homebrew mostly outclasses the professionally made games. vectrex has some good homebrew too.

@ 7th Lutz

I was wondering if you have played the hack for Adventure Plus? I think that's going to be one of my first homebrew purchase as I'm a big fan of the orginal.

Indeed Atari homebrew games are awesome. I played a few of them on Activision Anthology for GBA, and many of them even play better than most real Atari games these days. That Skeleton game is particular is very cool. Any chance of seeing videos for Space Treat, Vault Assault, or Oystron, Turbo?:)

Really want to play that Christmas game. Looks awesome!

Oystron was a good homebrewn title. I played it on Activision Anthology. There's also Climber 5, that game was fun!
