Loving this game at the moment. Even though its not counted in the legacy and was made by the n64 team I love this one. A truly underrated game in the castlevania series. Some classic tunes rehashed and a very powerful looking whip.
I enjoyed this a lot while I was playing it but got stuck very early on in the game. It's a great game, I'm just not a great player (in the video game sense).
It was my first Metroidvania, and I thought it was pretty good, though real freakin' hard as well. I got to Dracula, but could never beat him, and I sold the game years ago. Need to go hunt it down...
I was familiar with SoTN at the time I first played CotM, but really CotM was my first Metroidvania. I loved almost every moment, though the difficulty of some bosses took me quite a while. I never was able to get through all of the Colosseum either, that place was brutal. I've even tried to play again using the special password games, but the Magician one stopped me cold at the beginning of the game.
Though I later picked Aria of Sorrow as my favorite of the GBA trilogy, I'll never forget that Circle of the Moon was my gateway game into the series.

I used to play the hell out of this game. I loved it so much. Even completed the game in every mode.
