Rondo of blood for Turbo grafx is highly recommended. It's also available on the Wii shop.
That's gotta be my absolute favorite Castlevania game!
You also might wanna check out Rebirth on Wiiware.
It's very much like the old style with Graphics that resemble the Snes and Genesis days.

Is Lord of Shadows really a reboot? I assumed Bar the ending credits it could easily fit into the rest of the timeline.

On that Note whats a Good first Castlevaina game for a Beginner. I have a 360 and soon to be 3DS.

With a 360 and 3DS there currently aren't a whole lot of options for Castlevania games.
Lord of Shadows is more similar to the God of war series and doesn't really feel like Castlevania to me.
You may want to try one of the three DS Castlevania games. Dawn of Sorrow is probably the best of those.
They're kinda like the Metroid style with exploration and all that rather than the old style but still alot of fun.

@shingi_70: Are you kidding?! My brother is a Castlevania fanatic and assures me that Lords of Shadow is like turning link into ganondorf. It messes up the whole thing.

Im downloading the Trail to Symphony of the night right now. Hopefully I enjoy it.

Yeah Symphony of the Night is great. Not quite as good as it's prequel or IV but still fantastic. It's a little disappointing that you don't play as a Belmont this time around (Alucard's still an awesome character to be though) but thankfully you can spoilers unlock Richter to play as once you beat the game spoilers.

@Shingi70: Yes it has been confirmed by numerous sources including Konmai that Lord of Shadows is a reboot of the series. As for a good Castlevania to start with if the 360 and the 3DS is the only systems you have then you are going to be missing out on some of the best Castlevania games.

Symphony of the Night is probably my favorite of all time and if you have a chance to play that one I highly suggest it. Dawn of Sorrow on the DS is good too but as I said a few posts ago is a direct sequel to Aria of Sorrow on the GBA so if you have a GBA or a DSlite or and Original DS than I suggest picking up Aria of Sorrow on the GBA before Dawn. I am not sure about the other DS Castlevanias cause I just ordered them myself from Amazon but when I play them I will let you know.

Keep meaning to post here! With the Castlevania 25th here, and Halloween around the corner, I'm thinking of recognizing it by playing nothing but Castlevania until November! Maybe play through them in order of their release. I haven't played Castlevania and Castlevania II in ages! And I've never finished original mode on Castlevania Chronicles, so that's a priority!

I've been waiting for news of a new Castlevania from Konami, but I've kind of stopped expecting anything from them. I've not bought a Konami title since Lords of Shadow. Then, I realized that I don't even have all the Castlevania games already released! So, I may as well satisfy my thirst for blood that way! I don't have two for GBA, two for DS, Harmony of Despair, or Curse of Darkness. I noticed at Amazon that the Xbox version costs quite a bit less than the PS2 version. Is it lacking somehow? Also, does it play all right on Xbox 360?

Finally, does anybody think we'll ever see the old Game Boy Castlevanias, and Castlevania: Bloodlines on VC? Konami only seems to make soccer games for Nintendo these days, much less support VC.

I still can't believe Konami hasn't given us Bloodlines on VC.
I mean come on it's the 25th anniversary for crap sake! Why hasn't there even been any mention of a possible release?
I'd really like to know how we were able to get Rondo (thank god for that) but no bloodlines.
