You should post a picture of your retro collection. I bet it's something plus if you are ever looking to get rid (sell) of a complete copy of Earthbound don't forget bout Ryno!

NL seems to be all about Mario, Zelda & Metroid which is great and everything, yet Mega Man & castlevania totaly and bodaciously(not in the good bodacious kind of way)get the shaft...especially in the forums!

I'm honestly thinking about snaging a Genesis(Model 1 so i can get me some composite cables!) just for Bloodlines seeing as how those Turtle turds down at funko-land Konami can't get their surfer shniz together and actually release a few or so of their remaining classics for the Wii's VC such as Bloodlines, Contra Hardcorps, Rocket Knight Adventures and the like.

And yes, Vampires have become a joke....We still have those 1930's classics all the way up to Lost Boys and From Dusk til dawn at least. Gotta love those Hammer vampire classics! I'm stocking up on those for Halloween.

that aside does anybody plan on playing any Castlevania games for this halloween? I plan on blasting through the original during the end of the month. It would be awesome however if Konami unleashed Bloodlines just in time for Halloween...

I'm a bit late with this post, admittedly, but we will be having a Castlevania celebration in a couple of weeks time. We're lining up some content for it, and thought it'd be better to have good stuff lined up than rush out an article last week as we were focussing on the N64 anniversary.

I hope you'll enjoy it when it comes

Yeah October seems to be a better time to celebrate Castlevania's 25th anniversary since it's close to Halloween.

Yeah I got them to play on my 3DS when I am at school. As far as GBA Castlevanias go I have only played Harmony of Dissonance and Aria of Sorrow cause of the Double pack I bought a few years ago. I can say that Aria is the better of the two but Harmony isnt a bad game thought. THe only thing though is if you play Aria you are going to have to get a DS so you can play Dawn of Sorrow. In fact that was the main reason I bought my DS back in the day was for Dawn of Sorrow .

I am so lost with the new parts of the Castlevania series I wouldn't know which characters are who anymore. I don't know if I would buy a DS just for Dawn of Sorrow. I would have to really like Aria.

Anbody ever play Lords of Shadow? I know it is not part of the original canon which stinks like moldy garlic but I am still interested and read mostly good things.

The music sounds killer. It remade one of my favorite songs Waterfalls from Super Castlvania IV.

@Ryno: Its a reboot of the series actually I have only played the demo of it but from what people say the gameplay is like the God of War series but with Castlevania flavoring. Although I did enjoy the demo alot I just havent got around to buying it yet but as I said in the retro thread I will probably play this one for the storyline than on the shelf it goes.

And yes I did like Aria that much lol and the fact that Dawn is a direct sequel to Aria help made my choice in buying a DS too.

Yeah me too, I would buy it for the storyline, play it once and then filled away with my other PS3 games. I wish they would do a rerelease that would include the DLC on the disk now that it has been out for over a year.

CastleVania has been dead to me ever since it went all Metroid on me. I prefer the good ol' days of Simon Belmont ( and the others ) going from point A to point B in some super hard whip-em up platformer levels.

I know of CastleVania, CaslteVania III, Super CasleVania 4 ( my fave ) and Vampire Kiss. Are there any other games that play like these in the series that I'm not aware of?

I don't always give myself signatures, but when I do, you just read it.

cheetahman91

@pocket_arsenal: Good grief there's a ton out there. There's Haunted Castle, Castlevania Bloodlines, Castlevania Adventure, Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge, Castlevania Legends, Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, Castlevania Chronicles and Castlevania Rebirth. Rondo of Blood and Rebirth are on the Wii Shop channel and I highly recommend them.
