me and one of my close friends were saying today, we wish they would release a castlevania compilation one day

@ Tasuki
LOL.
Yeah those Twinky vampires really do suck. What happened to the good old days when vampires didn't care about feelings? They used to be so scary.
Like Lost Boys scary!

Or maybe it's just that Konami doesn't seem to be doing anything for the anniversary, and people here talk about Castlevania in other threads all the time. With no actual anniversary "celebration" being done (via releases or whatever), there's not much "anniversary-specific" stuff to really talk about.

Yeah I wonder why Konami isn't doing anything this year. Castlevania is one of their most popular franchises. I know that they were releasing Harmony of Despair on PSN this month but that's not much of anything.

every day's a holiday, it just depends if you want to celebrate it. but ya i wish konami would do something big for castlevania too, like what nintendo does for mario or zelda. maybe a live action castlevania movie?... no, scratch that idea. (looks at mario) shivers.

They were actually thinking about making a Castlevania movie a few years back.
Luckily it got cancelled. I'm sure it was for the best. I don't think anyone really wanted to see that.

Actually I could see them doing a Castlevania movie kinda like how they did the first Mummy moive with Brendan Fraiser. But alas since it would be a movie based off of a video game it would get screwed up and have nothing to do with that game.

I dont know about Castlevania. They did an anime art style for Dawn of Sorrows on the DS and quite honestly I wasnt a big fan of it. I am a huge fan of Japanese Anime but to me I like the art style of Aria of Sorrow over Dawn. Castlevania just didnt look good Japanese anime style.

I'm all about the original, linear style Castlevania's, so if Konami are to do anything for this whole '25th Anniversary' shizzle, i'd hope it'd revolve around that side the series.

...Hey, one can dream!

What a freakin' tool, eh?

Tasuki

@Waveboy: I personally prefer the Metroidvania style games over the original style of Castlevania. I think it because of the fact that it is Metroidvania but who knows.

Oh yea and speaking of Vampire flicks I just picked up one of my favorites today on DVD for $1.99, John Carpenters Vampires. Not sure if you ever seen this one Waveboy but its a good flick James Woods plays a pretty good bad ass hero and Thomas Ian Griffith as the head vampire. To me that was the last good Vampire flick before Twilight ruined the Vampire image.

NL seems to be all about Mario, Zelda & Metroid which is great and everything, yet Mega Man & castlevania totaly and bodaciously(not in the good bodacious kind of way)get the shaft...especially in the forums!

I'm honestly thinking about snaging a Genesis(Model 1 so i can get me some composite cables!) just for Bloodlines seeing as how those Turtle turds down at funko-land Konami can't get their surfer shniz together and actually release a few or so of their remaining classics for the Wii's VC such as Bloodlines, Contra Hardcorps, Rocket Knight Adventures and the like.

And yes, Vampires have become a joke....We still have those 1930's classics all the way up to Lost Boys and From Dusk til dawn at least. Gotta love those Hammer vampire classics! I'm stocking up on those for Halloween.

that aside does anybody plan on playing any Castlevania games for this halloween? I plan on blasting through the original during the end of the month. It would be awesome however if Konami unleashed Bloodlines just in time for Halloween...

I agree with you on a Castlevania topic on Nintendolife rots away faster than a corpse in Dracula's torture chamber. I am for sure planning on playing some Castlevania this month and in particular Dracula's Curse. I have yet to complete that game ever and in the middle of taking a break for but will start back up at the Entrance Hall and begin the final stretch with a little bit of Deja Vu.

I am in the minority here, because I have Bloodlines already, but I want Konami to release Dracula X for VC in October because an original copy of the game costs way to many hearts even for Simon's deep pockets! :0

I need to get the three Castlevania games for GBA still. I am not a fan of the anime Castlevania however. Lords of Shadow style looks visually pleasing to my picky eye so if anyone has played as Gabriel I would like to hear their overall thoughts.

I favor classic Castlevania to Metroidvania like Trevor prefers Holy Water over the Dagger. Here is a crazy cool concept, I play Metroid for my dose of Metroid.

This one:

I know its more of a remake of Rondo of Blood but I would still like it in some form. Maybe someday I will pony up for it. Besides, the boxart is totally fantastic; Richter giving the middle finger to the Dracster.

@Ryno: Oh yeah I forgot about that one. Probably cause alot of people thought of it as an inferior remake to Rondo of Blood and the fact that they have Rondo of Blood on the VC is probably why they wont release it on the VC.

i hope they release Bloodlines soon on VC, as well as Dracula X, if not i may be buying Dracula X soon for my SNES.
i have a feeling they wont put Dracula X on VC because its supposed to be the SNES version of Rondo Of Blood to a degree of sorts

oldgamesonly, I knew you had some of that super special ice cold Belmont blood running through your veins you old dog! You are the only one besides myself that I know that is seriously considering obtaining the rare SNES Dracula X.

But I agree with both you and Tasuki that we will presumably not be seeing it on the VC since the original is currently available.
