Topic: Castle of Illusion vs Sonic 1 md

For me it has to be Mickey mouse castle of illusion.

Has a great charm to it.

After I got a Genesis, I happened to notice Castle of Illusion at a used video game store. I love it! Far better than the Game Gear version I had years ago.

Sonic is a classic, but I prefer Castle of Illusion.

Why are you comparing them, though?

Just feeling nostalgic. Also before sonic came out this was hailed if I remember as the key platform game for sega. Even the master system version was good although it lacked those classic moments of the megadrive version.

Examples

1. Spider garden
2. The moment in stage 1 where the ghosts appear.
3. Toyland running down the hills after working your way up.
4. Toyland the rotating effects.
5. The cup of tea.
6. Moment where the rainbow path is made.

Just an amazing game and should be in the top megadrive games and should be released on VC.

Still have an old cart. It is such a beautifull game and is a great mesh of the disney magical universe combined with sega japan development.

I love castle of illusion! (Well, its about even with quackshot really!)
Nothing beats a game with a level that takes place in a bottle of milk! I like sonic... but it has been killed recently with far too many re-relases, while Castle of illusion has not ever been ported
I really wish Disney games could go on the VC!

I agree that Sonic has been re-release ad mortis. Disney games are almost never re-released due to rights issues. It's a shame.

I would have to say mickey mouse castle of illusion, quackshot was good but world of illusion with micky and donald was much better. would be nice to see them on Virtual Console

I had the Game Gear Castle of Illusion, but tended to play the easy stages because I suck so much.

Its such a beautiful game. Wonder which sega teams worked on castle of illusion and quacksot.

My guess would be the same developers that worked on revenge of shinobi, shadow dancer.
