This game was either for Gameboy Advance or Gameboy Color I think. It was pretty hard and the cover had a castle I think, with maybe a minotaur and definitely this girl with brown hair. The gameplay involved a maze of some sort, with hedges and figuring things out. I guess it sort of looked like Zelda and Pokémon but it's different. I've looked everywhere for it and have scoured the internet but with no luck. Please help
If not, do you remember anything more specific about the gameplay?
Hm thanks really close but I'm pretty sure it was one character. The gameplay looks similar though. It's possible that that is it but I'll have to research. The gameplay involved trying to leave the maze, walking around, and possibly interacting with NPCs in a Zelda style
I hope you didn't import anything, because I basically went through all the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance games under the "Action Adventure", "Adventure", "RPG", and "Puzzle" categories on GameFAQs, and that was all I found that was even remotely like your description. Are there any other details that jump out at you? Anything even slightly specific? Otherwise, I recommend skimming through GameFAQs or Giant Bomb, since they show pictures and have pretty comprehensive lists with decent sorting features.

He said "Gameboy Advance or Gameboy Color I think". That doesn't sound very sure, so maybe he was wrong and it's on another system all together.
On GBC or GBA Lufia and Azure Dreams are the games that are probably closest to this description.
I clicked on that 3 times and it never occured to me to look at a screenshot...I avoided the licensed stuff since they seemed easy enough to remember, but Quest for Camelot is actually obscure enough that it could very well have escaped the OP's (or really any regular adult's) memory.
