even when providing an answer on earthbound it appears its never good enough, people try to find loopholes. i sit with all my info hesitating to share it, as my infinite stock pile of mother/earthbound carts topples over. and i drown from swimming in earthbound strategy guides. save me from the pain

I just don't ever see it happening. For some reason, it's an IP that Nintendo not only has discontinued, but seems to malign so much that they don't even want the old games to see the light of day ever again. The "licencing issues" that have plagued Earthbound's re-release on Virtual Console just seem like a convenient excuse considering other games get around stuff like that all the time when re-released. I mean, it's not rocket science: if there's product placement, blur it out or change it to something generic. If there's licensed music involved, change it. Simple, relatively inexpensive tweaks that the company just refuses to do for whatever reason. I mean they can't really say there isn't enough demand for the games to spend the money in getting them out there. It has to be something else, and whatever it is, I just don't see any minds changing about it anytime soon.
