Return of the King on GBA. It was surprisingly good. It was a hack and slash that had a bunch of different campaigns(different for each character) and tons of weapons

I have to go with Batman Returns on SNES. One of the greatest games on the SNES; and a Final Fight clone so good, it TOPS FInal Fight IMO! I'd expect nothing less from The Dark Knight or 1990s era Konami! And for licensed games, I think its soundtrack (based off of Danny Elfman's incredible score) is the standard bearer to this day!
It's a shame it didn't sell better; the sequel looked even better.

Completely agreed. In an era where everyone is making millions exclusively off of nostalgia, this is the best example of people doing it exclusively because they genuinely love old school gaming and more importantly GET old school gaming.

This. I loved that game.
I'll also throw a vote in for Thor on the DS. Wayforward make funky games, even when on limited budget.

One of the reasons I keep my SNES hooked up, and what makes me smile is that Batman Returns is not the only Batman game that makes use of Elfman's score. Both Lego Batman games make use of the score as well.
The NES Batman, developed by Sunsoft, it a blast. Really difficult, especially as you go on, but fun nonetheless.

If it's anything like the console versions, I can believe that.
Taz: Wanted is a game that I replay at least once a year, because it's an amazing platformer. This is the only one that comes to mind at the moment that hasn't already been mentioned...

I've always wondered if that game was any good.
Also, I'm gonna get some head-turns for this, but Hello Kitty: Roller Rescue for Gamecube is a pretty decent mindless beat-em-up.
